Abstract: Described herein are techniques for enabling remote implementation and enforcement of usage settings on one or more user devices. In some embodiments, a wireless carrier network maintains information on relationships between various user devices. Each relationship may be active under specified conditions (e.g., time and/or location) and is associated with usage settings that dictate one or more rules to be enforced while the relationship is active. In some embodiments, a set of usage settings may be generated for a particular user device based on all active relationships associated with that user device. The set of usage settings may be enforced by a mobile application installed upon a user device or by a wireless carrier network that blocks certain network traffic to and/or from the user device.

Abstract: A central IoT controller is described for conserving power resources of mobile IoT devices. Specifically, the central IoT controller is configured to at least monitor power reserves of mobile IoT devices, and in response to detecting that a power reserve has fallen below a predetermined threshold, generate computer-executable instructions that adjust configuration settings of the mobile IoT devices to conserve a remaining power reserve. The central IoT controller may modify a check-in interval for mobile IoT devices, configure the transmission of data communications via more power-efficient communication protocols, or reduce the number of active sensors on the mobile IoT device based on proximity to a trusted geolocation or a trusted device. Further, data communications may be rerouted via a proximate trusted device or other proximate mobile IoT device, in response to such device providing an efficiency with respect to available communication protocols.

Abstract: Techniques are described that facilitate analyzing real-time communication sessions between a client device of a client account and a third-party device for the purpose of detecting safety concerns that may impact a client associated with the client device. The real-time communication sessions may include voice or text communications provisioned by a telecommunication service provider. In response to detecting a safety concern, notification data may be sent to a trusted device associated with the client account that alerts a trusted person of the inferred safety concern. In some examples, a safety concern may be inferred based on an irregular performance or non-performance of a regularly conducted real-time communication session. Moreover, communication session modification data may be sent to a client device involved in the real-time communication session for the purpose of terminating the real-time communication session based at least in part on safety concerns.
