Abstract: In an embodiment, an electronic device 1 has a panel 20, a housing 10 that holds the panel 20, and a piezoelectric element 30 installed on the rear side of the panel 20, wherein the piezoelectric element 30 is installed at a position that allows for the vibration amplitude of the panel 20 to become the highest on the side closer to the center of the panel 20 in the longitudinal direction from the installed position of the piezoelectric element 30. The electronic device is capable of causing an entire panel to vibrate in a stable manner.

Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a seating sensor 280 includes a sensor module 200 provided with a piezoelectric element 30 and attached to a seat 302 via a vibration transmission plate 210. When a user is seated on the seat 302, pulse wave vibrations due to blood flow of the user are transmitted through the seat 302 to its reverse face side, and then transmitted to the vibration transmission plate 210 and further transmitted, via a vibration ring 40, to the piezoelectric element 30 in the sensor module 200, whereupon a seating of the user on the seat 302 and/or the user's biological information are/is detected. The vibration transmission plate 210 allows the pulse wave vibrations from the user to be transmitted to the sensor module 200 even when the user does not sit on the seat 302 directly above the seating sensor 280.

Abstract: In an embodiments, an electronic device 1 has a panel 20 of roughly rectangular shape, a housing 10 that holds the panel 20, and a piezoelectric element 30 installed on the rear face side of the panel 20, wherein the panel 20 is bonded to the housing 10 with its edges supported on the housing 10, and it also has at least one side 21 not bonded to the housing 10 (non-bonded side). The electronic device is capable of causing an entire panel to vibrate in a stable manner.

Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a vibration waveform sensor includes a pair of conductive pads 22, 23, and a piezoelectric element 30 whose terminal electrodes are connected thereto, which are provided on a board 20, and these are surrounded by a conductive ring-like spacer 40. On the interior side of the spacer 40, a cover part 44 substantially like a disk is provided in a manner covering over the pair of conductive pads 22, 23 and the piezoelectric element 30. The cover part 44 cuts off any humming noise from the top face of the piezoelectric element 30 over a continuous surface, which results in a reduction of humming noise.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a sensor module 10 includes a piezoelectric element 30 placed on the principal face of a board 20, which piezoelectric element is surrounded by a vibration ring 40 and installed in an appropriate position on a person's arm, neck, etc., using a medical fixing tape, etc., with the vibration ring 40 contacting the person's skin. When a pulse wave is transmitted to the vibration ring 40 from the skin, the board 20 also vibrates and this vibration is transmitted to the piezoelectric element 30. Then, the piezoelectric element 30 is displaced and the pulse wave vibration is converted to an electrical signal. The resulting electrical signal is amplified by an amplifier on the board 20 and input to the vibration analysis device 100, where prescribed calculations are run to perform waveform analysis. The vascular state, etc., can be known from pulse waveforms.
