Abstract: A surveying instrument comprises a projection optical system for irradiating a distance measuring light which is a linearly-polarized light to an object to be measured, a light receiving optical system for receiving a reflected distance measuring light from the object to be measured, a polarization selecting module for selecting a polarization of the reflected distance measuring light received by the light receiving optical system and an arithmetic control module for controlling a distance measurement based on a light receiving result of the reflected distance measuring light, wherein the arithmetic control module is configured to give a material information to a distance measurement result of the object to be measured based on a change in light receiving amounts caused due to a selection of the polarization by the polarization selecting module.

Abstract: A three-dimensional measurement device includes a light source unit that emits distance measurement light, a projection light optical system that causes the distance measurement light, emitted by the light source unit, to be emitted along a distance measurement light axis, a light receiving optical unit that receives the reflected distance measurement light, a light receiving and splitting unit that splits the reflected distance measurement light that has transmitted through the light receiving optical unit into first reflected split light and second reflected split light, attenuates intensity of the second reflected split light to be lower than intensity of the first reflected split light, and converts the first reflected split light and the second reflected split light into electrical signals, and angle detection units that detect a light emitting direction of the distance measurement light.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the position of a laser scanner using one or more optical targets, each arranged at a known point. The apparatus includes: a ground control point position obtaining part which obtains information of arrangement positions of multiple optical reflection targets; a laser scanner approximate position data obtaining part which obtains an approximate position of a laser scanner; a laser scanning data obtaining part which obtains data of multiple luminescent points; a processing objective point extracting part which extracts multiple luminescent points having luminance exceeding a specific threshold value; and a laser scanner position calculating part which gives data of the arrangement position of the optical reflection target to each of the extracted multiple luminescent points so as to calculate position of the laser scanner.

A measurement device includes a light source unit that sequentially emits a plurality of beams of distance measurement light to an identical target object, based on predetermined fixed output information, a light reception unit that receives reflected light, from the target object, based on which the measurement device acquires measurement information, and an output value reducing unit and/or an input value reducing unit, the output value reducing unit reducing an output value of the light source unit, the input value reducing unit reducing an input value of the reflected light to the light reception unit.
