    Abstract: An occupant protection system for protecting a vehicle occupant sitting in a seat includes a seatbelt that includes a lap belt for arresting the pelvis of the occupant, and an airbag disposed in the lap belt. The airbag is coupled to the lap belt in such a manner as to be movable relative to the lap belt in a left and right direction, and includes a main inflatable portion that is deployable in front of upper body of the occupant, and a positioning inflatable portion that protrudes from a lower end region of the main inflatable portion. The positioning inflatable portion includes a contact surface that contacts and is supported by an environmental member which is disposed in a circumference of the lap belt at airbag deployment, whereby helps align a center in the left and right direction of the main inflatable portion generally with that of the upper body.

    Abstract: An airbag of a head-protecting airbag device includes a bag body, a tension belt extending from a front region of the bag body and a tether for covering an outer circumference of the bag body. The bag body includes a terminal inflatable portion and a central inflatable portion. The tension belt is disposed along a front and rear direction of the bag body so as to be deployable on an outboard side of the terminal inflatable portion. The tether is run through a slit formed on a partitioning portion which partitions the terminal inflatable portion from the central inflatable portion and covers an inboard side of the terminal inflatable portion and an outboard side of the central inflatable portion.

    Abstract: An airbag includes an airbag body and an inner tube. The inner tube includes a gas upstream section located in an upstream region of an inflation gas stream fed from a gas generator and a gas outlet section that opens toward an inflatable region of the airbag body and feeds an inflation gas to the inflatable region. The gas outlet section includes a check valve section. The check valve section has a flexible and a generally tubular shape extending and opening toward the inflatable region due to pressure of an inflation gas so as to stream the inflation gas into the inflatable region. After the gas generator has finished discharging the inflation gas, the check valve section folds back toward the gas upstream section due to an internal pressure of the inflatable region and closes off the gas outlet section.

    Abstract: An occupant protection system for protecting a vehicle occupant sitting in a seat includes a seatbelt that includes a lap belt for arresting the pelvis of the occupant, and an airbag that is stored in the lap belt. The airbag as deployed includes a main inflatable portion for protecting an upper body of the occupant, and a head protecting portion that is located in a vicinity of an upper end of the main inflatable portion for protecting a head of the occupant. The head protecting portion includes a front inflatable portion for covering a front side of the head, and a pair of side inflatable portions that extend rearward from left and right ends of the front inflatable portion for covering sides of the head.     Abstract: An occupant protection system includes a seatbelt device mountable on a vehicle seat and an airbag device mountable in a vicinity of a fastening area of the seatbelt device where a buckle section of the seatbelt device buckles a tongue. The airbag device includes an airbag inflatable between a lap belt, a shoulder belt and an occupant seated in the seat. The airbag includes a front inflatable section extending forward and a rear inflatable section extending rear- and upwardly. The rear inflatable section is so configured as to ride over a vicinity of the fastening area and contact the front inflatable section when an occupant of the vehicle moves forward and pushes the rear inflatable section at an impact on a vehicle from the front of the buckle section.

    Abstract: An occupant protection device, which protects an occupant seated in a seat, includes: a seat belt; a front airbag device provided with a front airbag which is placed in an area of a lap belt and inflates to cover a front of the occupant when operated; and a seat airbag device provided with a seat airbag which is arranged inside a seat portion in the seat and inflates so as to raise at least a front portion side of the seat portion upward.
