摘要:
A fuel cell stack of the present invention includes: a membrane electrode assembly, formed by stacking an anode electrode, a cathode electrode, and an electrolyte membrane interposed between the anode electrode and the cathode electrode; and a sealing structure for preventing a fuel that is supplied to the anode electrode and a gas containing an oxidizer that is supplied to the cathode electrode from leaking in a direction different from a stacking direction of the membrane electrode assembly, and has a configuration where pressing force of the sealing structure on the anode electrode side is set larger than pressing force on the cathode electrode side. There are provided a fuel cell stack having a sealing structure excellent in assembly property and replacement property, and a fuel cell using the same.

A hybrid power supply unit, comprises a high-capacity nonaqueous electrolyte battery group and a high-power nonaqueous electrolyte battery group different in discharge characteristics connected to each other in parallel. The high-capacity nonaqueous electrolyte battery group has a 0.2 C discharge capacity per cell greater than that of the high-power nonaqueous electrolyte battery group, and the high-power nonaqueous electrolyte battery group has a rate of 5 C discharge capacity per cell to 0.2 C discharge capacity per cell (5 C discharge capacity/0.2 C discharge capacity) greater than that of the high-capacity nonaqueous electrolyte battery group.

A secondary battery deterioration judging device is provided with an overdischarge detecting section for detecting the overdischarge of a secondary battery, the deterioration of which is to be judged, a computing section for integrating a value indicating the deterioration of the secondary battery while the overdischarge is detected by the overdischarge detecting section, and a judging section for judging a deterioration state of the secondary battery based on an integration value obtained by the computing section.

A battery pack is provided which includes: a state detection section which decides whether secondary batteries are in an electricity-charged state or in an electricity-discharging state; a power decision section which decides whether the secondary batteries are in a power-on state or in a power-off state; and a residual-capacity calculation section which, if the state detection section decides that they are in the electricity-charged state, calculates the residual capacity of the secondary batteries by accumulating a current value detected by a current sensor, and if the state detection section decides that they are in the electricity-discharging state, calculates the residual capacity of the secondary batteries by acquiring the voltage of the secondary batteries when the power decision section decides that they are in the power-off state.

Method for determining a determination voltage (end of discharge voltage) of a secondary battery having a nickel-hydroxide positive electrode based on the state of charge of the battery. The end of discharge voltage is determined in consideration of the voltages when the state of charge reaches a permissible lower limit after first and subsequent discharges of the battery. The voltage at which the state of charge reaches the lower limit for discharges after the first discharge gradually decreases due to a memory effect. As a result, the end of discharge voltage is lower than the voltage at which the state of charge reaches the lower limit after the first discharge.

The charge and discharge are performed by a proper electric power corresponding to the service environment of a battery and the state of the battery. When the temperature of the battery is not more than a specified temperature, or not less than another specified temperature, the upper limit value Pin-s of the charging electric power and the upper limit value Pout-s of the discharging electric power are determined so as to be smaller than those at a normal temperature. The temperature of the battery is detected, and the charging electric power and the discharging electric power are determined so that they may be not more than the upper limit values Pin-s, Pout-s of the charging and the discharging electric power at this temperature, and the charge control of the battery is performed.

The invention provides long life alkaline storage batteries free from short-circuiting using plates having a punching metal as a substrate. In the alkaline storage batteries of the present invention, at least one of the positive plate and the negative plate comprises a punching metal as a substrate, the size thereof is different from that of another plate, and the plates are arranged so that the cut side of the plate having the punching metal substrate at which the substrate is cut through the punched portions does not overlap the side of the adjacent plate of opposite polarity. The plates having such a construction prevents needle-shaped projections produced by cutting the substrate through the punched portions from causing the short-circuiting with the adjacent plate of opposite polarity.

A method for producing a synthetic crystalline thermoplastic resin film suitable for stretching without necking including adding 5 to 300 parts by weight of a filler to 100 parts of a synthetic crystalline thermoplastic resin film such as polyethylene on isotactic polypropylene having a degree of crystallization of more than 60%, pressing the film against a rigid blade having a radius of curvature of 0.01 to 1.0 millimeter, bending the film around the blade using the blade as a fulcrum to a bending angle between 20.degree. and 170.degree., moving the film relative to the blade while keeping the bending angle constant thereby whitening the film, said whitening of the film being conducted without positively heating or stretching the film, and stretching the film after whitening at a draw ratio below the natural draw ratio of the film.

A temperature detection portion 41 captures temperature detection values detected by a plurality of temperature sensors T disposed at prescribed positions of a battery portion 2 with a prescribed period, to detect the state of the battery portion 2. An abnormality judgment portion 42 compares the temperature detection values detected by the temperature detection portion 41 with a threshold value determined in advance, to judge whether the state of the battery portion 2 is abnormal. In a case where the abnormality judgment portion 42 judges that the battery portion 2 is abnormal, a charge/discharge control portion 43 causes a switching element 5 to operate in an on/off sequence set in advance, and then turns off the switching element 5.
