摘要： A transmitting method of digital data whereby information data can be reproduced at a high precision. In order to retain digital data in sectors comprising a plurality of sync frames and sequentially transmit, the sync frame is comprised of the sync signal and the run length limited code which satisfies the limitations of the minimum run length and the maximum run length, and the sync signal includes the sync pattern constituted by a bit pattern of a run length that is longer than the maximum run length by only 3T and addition bit patterns which are arranged before and after the bit pattern and each of which has a urn length that is longer than the minimum run length. The sync signal includes a specific code which indicates a position in the sector and which enables the DC control to be performed.

摘要： A digital modulation apparatus applies a method for converting data words to runlength-limited code words using plural conversion tables. The data words are converted to code words that significantly suppress the low frequency component of the final nonreturn-to-zero inverted signal.This digital modulation apparatus includes ROM tables for storing plural conversion tables containing the runlength-limited code words corresponding to the data words; end-runlength memories and evaluators for determining whether the runlength-limit constraints are satisfied in the interconnection between two consecutive code words when the data words to be converted are supplied; and a DSV controller for storing each of the code words that can be selected from two conversion tables to buffer memories when the runlength-limit constraints are satisfied, and selecting the code words wit the greatest effect suppressing the low frequency component in the obtained signal when the code words are NRZI converted.

摘要： A watermark information embedding method, and apparatus, capable of suppressing the quality degradation of contents and increasing the survivability of embedded information. When embedding watermark information in moving picture data formed of a plurality of still picture frames arranged in time series, a motion vector representing a property specific to moving picture is detected for each of image blocks generated by dividing a target frame. According to a motion quantity, a pixel change factor specifying rule is selected for each block. Out of pixels permitted to be changed in luminance depending upon the state of an image in each block representing a property specific to still picture, as many pixels as a number specified by the selected rule are selected. Luminance change processing for forming watermark information is conducted on the selected pixels.

摘要： An authentication method for use in sending/receiving data between a coded data output apparatus for outputting coded data having a water mark, and a recording apparatus for recording data onto a recording medium, the method including: deciding a type of the recording medium used by the recording apparatus; based on a result of the deciding, selecting, from a plurality of authentication methods, an authentication method corresponding to the type of the recording medium, and conducting authentication between the coded data output apparatus and the recording apparatus, using the authentication method; sending/receiving data between the coded data output apparatus and the recording apparatus after conducting the authentication; and in a case where the coded data has the water mark, detecting the water mark by the coded data output apparatus, wherein the data exchanged between the coded data output apparatus and the recording apparatus is scrambled by a scrambling method corresponding to the type the recording medium.

Instead of embedding watermarking information in respective pixels or by using a relation between pixels, the watermarking information is embedded as a position pattern of changed pixels in the contents. Reliability comparable with conventional techniques can be obtained irrespective of a change in a smaller number of pixels for the contents.

A reproducing apparatus comprises an electronic watermark information detecting circuit, a CGMS signal detecting circuit, a control circuit to which detected electronic watermark information and CGMS signal are supplied, and a video signal processing circuit controlled by an output of the control circuit. When the electronic watermark information and the CGMS signal have a rational relation, the video signal processing circuit is controlled to output the video signal.
