摘要： A digital cable broadcast processing apparatus and a method thereof. A power supply supplies power, and an out-of-band (OOB) receiver receives additional OOB information from a transmission system. A cable card to descramble the received OOB information is mounted in an interface, and a controller controls the power supply in accordance with the presence and absence of the cable card, and accordingly controls the power supply to the OOB receiver. Whether or not the cable card is mounted is determined, and power is cut off or supplied in accordance with the result of the determination. As a result, unnecessary power consumption can be prevented when the cable card is not mounted.

摘要： Disclosed is an apparatus and method for inspection of an electronic device, which can increase the efficiency of inspection by performing a self inspection. According to an aspect of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, an electronic device is provided with circuit units, comprising an interface unit for interfacing with an external storing apparatus; a user setting unit for performing a self inspection; and a controller for controlling each circuit unit to receive a preset control signal, and for controlling the interface unit to store a responding signal corresponding to the control signal outputted from the respective circuit unit in the external storing apparatus if a first function to perform the self inspection is selected through the user setting unit.

摘要： A broadcast receiving device and a method for receiving a broadcast thereof are provided. The broadcast receiving device includes a channel receiving unit which receives a channel broadcasting signal, generates a first parallel signal from the received channel broadcasting signal, converts the parallel signal into a serial signal, and outputs the serial signal; and a main body unit which receives the serial signal output from the channel receiving unit, reconverts the received serial signal into a second parallel signal, processes the second parallel signal, and outputs a video signal, an audio signal, and an additional data signal extracted from the processed second parallel signal. Since the channel receiving unit is provided as a separate unit from the main body unit, the thickness of the broadcast receiving device can be further reduced.

摘要： An open cable applying apparatus capable of providing an internet search and an internet providing method using the applying apparatus. The open cable applying apparatus includes a PCMCIA interface unit to mount any one of a POD module and a LAN card having PCMCIA (Personal Computer Card International Association) standards, a web browser driving unit to drive a web browser to generate a certain web page, and a control unit to switch the mode in the apparatus to an internet mode if it is determined that the LAN card having PCMCIA standards is mounted on the PCMCIA interface unit and then controlling the web browser driving unit so that the driving unit may stand-by the driving of the web browser. Accordingly, it is possible to provide an open cable applying apparatus capable of performing an internet search using a LAN card having PCMCIA standards.
