摘要： In a two-component development system containing a toner and a carrier, an a-Si photosensitive member having a diameter of from 20 mm to 80 mm is used, the photosensitive member is electrostatically charged to have a surface potential of from 300 to 450 V (absolute value), and yellow, magenta, cyan and black toners are used each of which have a weight-average particle diameter of from 4.0 &mgr;m to 10.0 &mgr;m, and, under a condition that the carrier of the two-component developer has a 50% average particle diameter of from 10 &mgr;m to 80 &mgr;m and as image density (D0.5) measured usually after the toner is fixed once when the quantity of unfixed toner on a transfer medium, M/S, is 0.5 mg/cm2, have a coloring power of from 1.0 to 1.9, and in which the difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of D0.5 of yellow, magenta, cyan and black colors is form 0 to 0.5. This makes it possible to obtain high-quality images in a high image density and a superior color reproduction.

摘要： A transmitting liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal panel including a pair of substrates, a pair of polarizers arranged adjacent to the pair of substrates respectively, a liquid crystal layer held between the pair of substrates, and electrodes arranged on at least one of the pair of substrates and serving to apply an electric field to the liquid crystal layer; and a light source unit arranged external to the pair of substrates, in which each of the pair of polarizers has an absorption axis along with an extraordinary wave axis of molecules constituting the polarizers. In this apparatus, a dye layer having a disc-form molecular structure is arranged between the polarizer and the substrate, or adjacent to the polarizer in proximity to the viewer. The dye layer has a transmission axis along with the extraordinary wave axis of the disc-form molecular structure.

摘要： Manufacture of a liquid crystal display is disclosed. The liquid crystal display includes a backlight unit, a backlight unit-side polarizing plate, and a liquid crystal cell held by two glass plates, the liquid crystal cell having an electrode, a liquid crystal layer, an alignment layer, and a color filter arranged between the glass plates. The liquid crystal display also includes a transparent front plate arranged at a side of the liquid crystal cell opposite to the backlight unit, a polarizing plate attached to the liquid crystal cell, and a transparent organic medium layer arranged between the front plate and the liquid crystal cell. Since the front plate is provided at the outermost surface of an image display portion, and the transparent organic medium is filled between the front plate and the liquid crystal module, it is possible to achieve an improvement in wear resistance and a reduction in reflectance.

The coloring light source includes a blue light source. The image quality processing calculation circuit outputs to the light source control circuit a light source control signal for (1) increasing a light intensity of the coloring light source when an average luminance of the input image signal is detected to be higher than a predetermined luminance based on a detection result of the detection circuit, and for (2) turning-on only the white color light source without turning-on the coloring light source when the average luminance of the input image signal is detected to be lower than the predetermined luminance.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to propose the structure and constitution of a liquid crystal display device having a protection plate, which prevents exfoliation of black painting at ends of the protection plate when dust on the protection plate of the liquid crystal display device is wiped off, thus preventing degradation of design features.The liquid crystal display device comprises: a transparent protection plate formed above a liquid crystal panel; a pair of polarizing plates disposed to sandwich and hold the liquid crystal panel; a transparent organic medium layer formed between the protection plate and the liquid crystal panel; a black coloring layer formed at ends of four sides on a side of the protection plate, the side being opposite to a side at which the transparent organic medium layer is disposed; and an anti-glare film composed of an anti-glare layer and an adhesion layer formed on a side of the protection plate, the side being opposite to a side at which the transparent organic medium layer is disposed.
