    摘要: An apparatus for recording and reproducing a video signal records all of effective line information required for transmission of respective picture images and voice information together with identification information in mutually resembling track patterns by setting the number of sampled picture elements per line (or block) and the number of lines (or the number of blocks) to be recorded in each track in accordance with a band ratio m of a first record video signal to a second record video signal. With this, it is possible to record and reproduce a plural types of video signals having mutually different bands and also different number of effective scanning lines and signal formats by one apparatus efficiently while checking enlargement of a circuit scale and with almost uniform picture quality performance in accordance with the difference of the bands.

    摘要: Solid-state imaging elements each having a smaller number of pixels are employed to realize an imaging device for taking a high-definition picture which is four or more times larger in the number of pixels than each of the solid-state imaging elements, and also an apparatus for recording/playing back (or transmitting) the high-definition picture. A two-dimensional space which includes, at least, nH spatial sampling points in a horizontal direction and nV spatial sampling points (nV lines) in a vertical direction, totaling (nH.times.nV) spatial sampling points, is imaged under the condition that light is sensed at, at most, 1/2 of the sampling points of the two-dimensional space. Thus, the imaging device delivers as its output a video signal containing effective pixel information items which correspond to the light-sensed sampling points and which are, at most, (nH.times.nV)/2 in terms of the number of pixels.

    摘要: In a rotary magnetic head helical scan type video tape recorder using a segment recording system, a video signal of one vertical scanning period is divided into n video signal blocks, where n is an integer equal to or larger than 2, and a redundant period having a selected length is inserted into the video signal blocks in a recording mode. Each of the video signal blocks has a number of horizontal scanning lines equal or smaller than N/n, where N is the number of the horizontal scanning lines in a field of the video signal. In a reproducing mode, a time axis error of reproduced series of the video signal blocks is corrected at least during the redunant periods. Then, the corrected blocks are converted into the original video signal.

    摘要: A method for transmitting a color video signal on a narrow-band transmission line such as a telephone line or an audio tape recorder is disclosed. The carrier frequency is so reduced that no clock signal of high frequency is used. The carrier chrominance signal and the brightness or luminance signal are transmitted separately in time-division multiplication thereby to eliminate color distortion. The write clock signal frequency for the carrier chrominance signal is rendered inversely proportional to the product of a given number determined by the number of samples required for faithful transmission of the carrier chrominance signal and a multiple enabling the carrier frequency to be minimized. The read clock signal frequency for the carrier chrominance signal is reduced to one over an integer of the luminance signal, so that the carrier chrominance signal is read at intervals of the integer in order of storage in a memory. At the time of writing the color chrominance signal in the memory, the write clock frequency therefor is rendered equal to the write clock frequency for the luminance signal. Thus the capacity of the memory for the carrier chrominance signal is one over an integer of that for the luminance signal.

According to an apparatus implementing the above method, reproduced pictures of high quality are obtained without jitters and skews due to dropouts.

    摘要: A coding device in which N digital signals (time-sequential sampled data), obtained by sampling and quantizing analog video signals, are brought together in one group (N being an integer greater than two) and coded. Among these N sampled data, at least one of them serving as a reference is coded with a number of quantization bits n, which is so great that errors due to the quantization can be neglected, and for the other sampled data the difference between the reference sampled data and each of the others is compressed and coded with a number of bits, which is smaller than n. In this way, even if a coding error is produced; effects thereof are restricted within the gorup where it is produced they are not exerted on the other groups, and thus error propagation does not occur.
