    摘要: A negative electrode material for a lithium secondary cell comprises carbonaceous particles consisting essentially of carbon fiber particles prepared by pulverizing pitch-based carbon fibers, wherein the layer spacing d between the carbon layers is less than 0.338 nm, the average particle size is 5-200 .mu.m, the fiber diameter of the pitch-based carbon fibers is 5-30 .mu.m, and the aspect ratio of the carbon fiber particles is 100 or less, the layer spacing d determined based on X-ray diffraction of the carbon fiber particles. A lithium secondary cell contains such a negative electrode material.
