    摘要: A control method and controller for an optical storage drive including: an optical head having a laser light source for applying light to an optical disk and a detector for receiving reflected light from the optical disk; and a seek mechanism for positioning the optical head on the optical disk. The control method includes: measuring a drive current value with which the laser light source provides a predetermined light power value by an emission adjustment; writing the measured drive current value into a non-volatile memory as an initial value; adjusting the emission of the laser light source so that it provides the predetermined light power value; and comparing the drive current value with which the emission adjustment has been made with the initial value stored in the non-volatile memory. Also disclosed is a control method which measures and stores a write power value providing optimum write performance in a non volatile memory for controlling the power of the laser light source with the measured value.

    摘要: An apparatus for reading information by projecting a light beam from an optical head onto an optical disk rotated by a spindle motor. The rotation time of the spindle motor is measured, and upon reaching a predetermined time, a cleaning request signal is sent to an upper order system. The rotation time of the spindle motor is counted by counting pulses generated with the rotation with a first counter stored in the RAM. Upon reaching a predetermined value by the count of the first counter, a second counter stored in a non-volatile memory is updated. Upon reaching a predetermined value by the second counter, a cleaning request is sent to the upper order system for display on a CRT, and a cleaning request flag in a non-volatile memory is set. When the end of cleaning of the apparatus is recognized, the cleaning request flag in the non-volatile memory is cleared.

    摘要: A light emission adjustment processing unit of a laser diode sequentially instructs a D/A converter for light emission of a light emission by test powers at predetermined two points, allows the laser diode to emit the light, instructs a D/A converter for subtraction of subtraction currents corresponding to the test powers at two points, and measures each power by an A/D converter for monitoring. From the measurement results, a relation of the instruction values to an arbitrary power in each D/A converter is obtained by a linear approximation and registered into a power table. When deciding an optimum writing power by a test write, a limit power on the lower limit side is detected while gradually decreasing the writing power from a starting power and a predetermined offset is added to the detected limit power, thereby obtaining the optimum writing power.

    摘要: A disc-apparatus has a cartridge loading/unloading mechanism to perform a loading operation for attaching an optical disc enclosed in a cartridge inserted from an outside to a rotary shaft of a spindle motor and an unloading operation for removing the optical disc from the rotary shaft of the spindle motor and for ejecting the cartridge to the outside. The loading operation of the cartridge loading/unloading mechanism is executed by the rotation of one direction of a load motor. The unloading operation of the cartridge loading/unloading mechanism is executed by the rotation in the reverse direction of the load motor. A drive current of the load motor is turned on or off at a short period, thereby adjusting so as to optimize a drive torque. When an exchangeable optical disc is loaded, a motor is activated, an initialization control is executed during the acceleration, and after a motor rotational speed reached a specific speed, the apparatus enables the writing/reading operations to be executed. When a voice coil motor is driven simultaneously with the spindle motor during the initialization adjustment, the drive current of the spindle motor is limited.

The seek control system includes a positioner for moving the optical head for seek, and a one-dimensional optical position detector having a photo-sensitive surface disposed in the path of movement of the optical head to output a position signal corresponding to a light spot position on the photo-sensitive surface. The seek control system further includes a light-emitting device provided on either the optical head or the positioner to apply light to the one-dimensional optical position detector, and a controller for controlling the drive of the positioner on the basis of a position detection output of the one-dimensional optical position detector.
