摘要: A fault that cannot be autonomously detected by all or a specific software module and all or a specific hardware device which realize the packet transmitting/receiving function is detected, and also a fault part is specified. A packet relay device realizes the packet transmitting and receiving functions through plural software modules and plural hardware devices. The packet relay device includes a memory space 105, reception statistics 131, 133, 135, and transmission statistics 132, 134, 136, and collects pass information of fault monitoring packets in all or the specific software module and all of the hardware devices whose operation is to be confirmed by the fault monitoring packets for detecting the faults within the device. A fault part specifying unit 118 is provided for specifying the fault part according to the pass information of the fault monitoring packet when abnormality is detected.

摘要: A packet relay device determines a port to be placed on standby in a link aggregation, determines whether there is an active port among ports belonging to redundant network interfaces, and, if a network interface has no active port, places the network interface on standby. The packet relay device monitors whether a failure has occurred in an active network interface and, if a failure is detected, activates a standby network interface and places the failed network interface on standby.

摘要: A network device 200 for relaying packets includes a network interface 220, a forwarding engine 240, a state change controller 274, a device state controller 276 and a device information table 278. The state change controller 274 and the device state controller 276 cooperatively determine whether a packet receiver port that has received a sleep notification packet among a plurality of ports included in the network interface 220 has setting of link aggregation. When link aggregation is set for the packet receiver port, the state change controller 274 and the device state controller 276 keep the packet receiver port in a power ON state, while all other ports, which belong to an identical link aggregation group are to a power OFF state.

摘要: In a packet relay apparatus equipped with a hierarchical bandwidth control function, a queuing unit of a bandwidth controller for controlling a bandwidth of a packet to be transmitted recognizes user information for identifying a user from VLAN ID of a received Tag-VLAN packet, acquires queue information representative of a queue position by referring to a priority mapping table by using a user priority order in the packet, and queues the packet to the queue identified by the user information and queue information. Bandwidth control can therefore be performed without searching a QoS information management table.
