摘要： A method and system for providing area information anticipates the user's mode of transportation and destination and provides information specific to the anticipated mode of transportation and destination. The system comprises two information processing devices. The first transmits at least one item of area specific information and, the second receives at least one item of area specific information, wherein the first information processing device stores area specific information and corresponding location information in pairs, infers a mode of user transportation and estimates a destination of the user based on location information of a user of the second device, extracts at least one item of area information specific to the destination of the user, and transmits the at least one item of extracted area information to the second information processing device, and wherein the second information processing device receives the at least one item of area information from the first device.

A system for providing area information comprises a first information processing device operable to transmit at least one item of area specific information and a second information processing device operable to receive the at least one item of area specific information, wherein the first information processing device comprises a storage unit operable to store area specific information and corresponding location information in pairs, an inference unit operable to infer a mode of user transportation based on location information of a user of the second information processing device, an extraction unit operable to extract at least one item of area information specific to the mode of user transportation from the storage unit, and a transmission unit operable to transmit the at least one item of area information extracted by the extraction unit to the second information processing device, and wherein the second information processing device comprises a receiving unit operable to receive the at least one item of area information from the first information processing device.

The reservation acceptance system includes a reservation request reception portion for accepting a request for providing a service, a position information reception portion for obtaining position information of a customer who made the request, an acceptance condition database for storing area condition information defining a predetermined area around a provision position of the service, an existence decision portion for deciding whether or not the customer is within the predetermined area in accordance with the position information and the area condition information, and a reservation acceptance processing portion that performs a reservation acceptance process of the service when it is decided that the customer is within the predetermined area and does not perform the reservation acceptance process when it is decided that the customer is not within the predetermined area.

摘要： In a presence system in which one user users a plurality of terminals, dynamically changing buddy lists are synchronized between the terminals. A presence notification message is sent to all the terminals of the user. The timing of sending includes, for example, when the presence information of a buddy is updated, when a new buddy is set, when display attribute information is updated, when a buddy is cancelled, and when a presence notification of unknown presentity is made. Thus, when one user uses a plurality of terminals in the presence system, dynamically changing buddy lists can be synchronized between the terminals. In addition, the display formats of the buddy lists do not differ from one terminal to another, and the same display format is attained.

A position-information acquisition unit in a computer acquires information on the position of a mobile terminal as a candidate for a destination of information provision. Then, a zone determination unit determines whether or not the mobile terminal is in a coverage zone or a margin zone on the basis of the information on the position. An information provision unit starts the information provision to the mobile terminal when the mobile terminal enters the coverage zone, and ends the information provision to the mobile terminal when the mobile terminal goes out of the margin zone.
