摘要: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes an electrode group prepared by winding spirally or in a flattened shape a laminate structure including a separator interposed between positive and negative electrodes, and a nonaqueous electrolyte held by the electrode group, wherein an edge portion of the separator in a direction perpendicular to a winding direction protrudes outward from edges of the positive and negative electrodes in the direction perpendicular to the winding direction, and the separator satisfies conditions given by formulas (1) to (3) given below: 0≦X1≦(Y1/1.5)≦10 (1) X2≦10 (2) X2≦Y2≦20. 摘要: A PDA, which functions as an electronic unit, includes power supply which includes a fuel cell unit and an auxiliary power supply which is charged by an output of the fuel cell unit. A non-use state of the PDA is detected by non-use detection unit. Upon detection of the non-use state by the non-use detection unit, the output from the fuel cell unit is stopped and an output of the auxiliary power supply is shut off.

摘要: The present invention relates to a fuel cell including: a membrane electrode assembly (2) having a fuel electrode (13), an air electrode (16), and an electrolyte membrane (17) sandwiched therebetween; and a fuel storage unit (4) storing a liquid fuel. The fuel cell is capable of continuously generating electricity for long hours only by being replenished with a fuel, and therefore, attempts have been made to miniaturize the fuel cell to use it as a power source of portable electronic devices. When the membrane electrode assembly and the fuel storage unit in the fuel cell are connected via a flow path, a fuel supply state becomes uneven depending on the shape and the like of the flow path even though a supply amount of the fuel can be adjusted, which causes a problem such as a decrease in an output of the fuel cell. The present invention solves the aforethe problem by providing, in the fuel cell, a fuel distributing mechanism (3) which supplies the fuel to a plurality of places of the fuel electrode, and connecting the fuel distributing mechanism and the fuel storage unit via the flow path (5).

摘要: The present invention relates to a fuel cell including a plurality of unit membrane electrode assemblies having an electrolyte membrane sandwiched by fuel electrodes and air electrodes. In recent years, attempts have been made to use fuel cells as power sources of portable electronic devices, and if the fuel cell can be made compact, it becomes a remarkably advantageous power supply system for portable electronic devices. Generally, in the fuel cell, the plural unit membrane electrode assemblies are electrically connected in series, but the serial connection of the unit membrane electrode assemblies different in output has a problem such as the deterioration due to polarity reversal occurring in the unit membrane electrode assembly with a low output. The present invention solves the above problem by the structure in which the fuel cell includes: the membrane electrode assembly group in which the plural unit membrane electrode assemblies are arranged two-dimensionally so as to be a predetermined interval apart from each other in a circumferential direction around a given center point, with the same electrodes being set on the same side; and a fuel supply mechanism disposed on the fuel electrode side of the membrane electrode assembly group and supplying a fuel to the fuel electrodes.

摘要: A fuel cartridge 5 for a fuel cell includes a cartridge body 8 containing liquid fuel for the fuel cell, and a nozzle part 9 supplying the liquid fuel to a fuel cell body. The nozzle part 9 has a nozzle head 12 provided on the cartridge body 8 and an insertion portion 14 which is inserted in a socket part 6 of the fuel cell body, and a valve mechanism (19, 20, 21, 22) arranged in the nozzle head 12. A recess portion 15 is provided in a tip of the insertion portion 14 of the nozzle head 12. Liquid fuel remaining on the tip of the nozzle part 9 is accommodated in the recess portion 15.

The electronic device is provided with a power supply control signal detection unit to detect an external power supply control signal, and a control unit to control turning on and off of the power supply with the switching unit by detection of the power supply control signal with the power supply control signal detection unit.
