    摘要: In a ratchet-type hydraulic tensioner for use with a timing chain of an internal combustion engine, two or more oil reservoirs gradually receive oil fed under pressure from an external source, and supply the oil through a hydraulic valve mechanism to a high pressure oil chamber formed by a plunger and a housing in which the plunger is slidable. Throttle holes, formed in partition walls separating the reservoirs, control the flow of oil from one reservoir to another. An excess oil discharge hole is optionally provided in one of the reservoirs. The invention prevents abnormal protrusion of the plunger, reduces chain noise and component damage due to wear, and rapidly re-establishes proper tension on engine start-up.

    摘要: In a ratchet-type hydraulic tensioner for a chain transmission, having a plunger and a housing forming a high pressure oil chamber, an excess supply oil discharge passage is provided. The discharge passage communicates with an oil supply passage leading from an oil supply opening, which receives oil under pressure from a oil pump, to a hydraulic check valve mechanism in the housing, which delivers oil to the high pressure oil chamber. Excess oil is discharged to the exterior of the tensioner housing and directed toward the chain. Excessive chain tension is avoided, and smooth and reliable chain travel, and suppression of whistling sounds, are achieved.

The lengths of the flat surfaces are such that adjacent flat surfaces of overlapping inner and outer plates overlap even when the plates in contact with the portion of a convex guide surface having the smallest radius of curvature.

    摘要: In a chain guide mechanism in which a pair of chain guides, at least one of which is a pivoted guide, are connected by mounting bosses a bridge so that the chain guides and bridge can be preassembled along with a chain and driving sprocket to form an integrated unit for installation in an engine, the chain guides include a chain-engaging guiding surface extending in a first direction from a location adjacent the mounting bosses, and a chain pressing portion extending in a second direction, opposite the first direction, substantially from the same location adjacent the mounting bosses. The pressing surfaces clamp the chain against the sprocket when a pivotable chain guide is rotated so that its chain engaging surface is moved away from the chain.

    摘要: The plates of transmission chain for an engine are formed with a guide-contacting configuration composed of spaced flat surfaces that come into sliding contact with a flat chain guide, and convex surfaces, continuous with and between the flat surfaces, for sliding contact with a convex chain guide. The convex surfaces are connected by a concave surface that, with the guide surface, forms an oil-retaining clearance. The radius of curvature of the convex curved surfaces of the plate preferably increases gradually from the location where they meet the flat surfaces toward the location where they meet the concave surface. The plates can have the same configuration on the side facing the inside of chain loop as on the side facing the outside of the chain loop.

    摘要: In a tensioner lever assembly for a chain transmission, an auxiliary lever, arranged to pivot relative to a main tensioner lever, engages a free span of the chain approaching the main lever from a driving sprocket. The auxiliary lever can be pivoted coaxially with the main lever, and can extend either toward the center of the main lever, or toward the driving sprocket. Alternatively, the auxiliary lever can be pivoted on the main lever at a location remote from the pivot axis of the main lever, and engaged with a free span of the chain moving away from the main tensioner lever and approaching a driven sprocket.

The refractive index of the index matching sheet 5 substantially matches with the refractive index of resin of the outermost layer of the optical fiber 1.
