    摘要: A method of making a planar lightwave circuit (PLC) waveguide capable of being integrated with a surface-mounted component is presented. The method entails etching a silicon substrate to form a slanted wall, forming a nonreflective waveguide portion on the silicon substrate, and depositing a reflective layer on the slanted wall. Light travels through the nonreflective waveguide portion in substantially a first direction, and the light from the nonreflective waveguide portion strikes the reflective layer to be redirected in a second direction. The second direction may be the direction toward the surface-mounted component. A PLC waveguide device made with the above method is also presented.

    摘要: A looseleaf binder assembly consisting of a backbone member and a second member that has fastened thereon a plurality of resilient rounded fingers in a position that will accept a plurality of loose sheets is disclosed. The second member contains an inwardly facing continuous flange on the body of the second member and inwardly facing tangs on the end of each resilient finger. These tangs and continuous flange slide into the grooves of the backbone member until each member is substantially aligned. The two members lock in position, when in alignment, by two of the resilient fingers snapping into notches in the grooves of the backbone member. In order to remove the looseleaf sheets, the two resilient fingers are deflected outwardly to allow the two tangs to clear the two notches where the continuous flange of the second member and the remaining tangs on the resilient fingers can slide out of the grooves in the backbone member.

    摘要: VoIP calls associated with VoIP applications installed on a mobile computing device are treated similar to calls not associated with installed VoIP applications. VoIP applications invoke the same native incoming call user interface that is invoked when a mobile device detects an incoming call that is not associated with an installed VoIP application. Mobile devices can simultaneously host a VoIP call and a call not associated with an installed VoIP application while a mobile device is locked. A reduced call user interface is displayed while a mobile device is simultaneously hosting multiple calls. Selection of the reduced call user interface causes the mobile device to make the active call the inactive call and vice versa. The reduced call user interface is managed by the mobile device operating system.

    摘要: A method of making a planar lightwave circuit (PLC) waveguide capable of being integrated with a surface-mounted component is presented.
