摘要: There is provided mechanisms for determining beam settings for beam management. A method is performed by a first radio transceiver device. The method comprises obtaining information about expected distribution of second radio transceiver devices in a network coverage region of the first radio transceiver device in which the beam management is to be performed. The method comprises determining beam settings for a first set of beams and a second set of beams. The first set of beams and the second set of beams are to be used for the beam management. There are fewer beams in the first set of beams than in the second set of beams. The beams in the first set of beams collectively cover all beams in the second set of beams. The beam settings for the beams in the first set of beams are determined according to the obtained information.

摘要: There is provided mechanisms for beam selection. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises performing a beam management procedure for at least two terminal devices. During the beam management procedure reference signals are transmitted in a beam sweep as performed in a set of beams. During the beam management procedure, each of the at least two terminal devices reports at least two beams in the set of beams for which the reference signals have been received with highest power. The method comprises selecting which beams to serve the at least two terminal devices based jointly on the reports and a mutual interference criterion for the at least two terminal devices.

The first wireless communication node (1) is furthermore arranged to run the algorithm at a certain pace in dependence of said degree. The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding method.

摘要: There is provided mechanisms for shaping cells in a wireless communications network. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises obtaining spatial channel characteristics of a set of currently and/or previously served terminal devices in the wireless communications network, wherein the spatial channel characteristics are indicative of a current collective first network performance metric value for the set of currently and/or previously served terminal devices. The method comprises identifying, using the spatial channel characteristics, those terminal devices of the set of currently and/or previously served terminal devices that have an individual second network performance metric value below a threshold value by comparing the individual second network performance metric value for each of the currently and/or previously served terminal devices to the threshold value. The method comprises determining beam forming parameters for shaping the cells based on the identified terminal devices, wherein the cells are shaped to increase an individual first network performance metric value for the identified terminal devices, wherein the beam forming parameters give rise to a modified set of terminal devices being served in wireless communications network, and wherein spatial channel characteristics of the modified set of terminal devices are indicative of a new collective first network performance metric value for the modified set of terminal devices. The method comprises providing a notification of the determined beam forming parameters to a radio access network node only when the new collective first network performance metric value is not worse than the current collective first network performance metric value.

The operations further include obtaining a current traffic demand in the segment, and obtaining previously stored spatial channel characteristics for wireless devices being associated with the cells in the segment. The spatial channel characteristics for at least one wireless device of the wireless device is given between the at least one wireless device and at least two cells in the segment. A determination is then made whether to affect the operation state of at least one of the cells or not according to the information of available cell resources, the current traffic demand, and the previously stored spatial channel characteristics.
