摘要: The present invention provides a personal care product including a wrapper having at least one free edge, an absorbent personal care article and a sensory cue providing indicia as to the location of the free edge. In one embodiment, the wrapper is a wrapper component and has a first panel, a back panel and a second panel, where the first panel is connected to the back panel and the second panel is connected to the back panel at an opposite end from where the first panel is connected to the back panel. The second panel having a free edge positioned adjacent the first panel, wherein the second panel has a first set of sensory attributes which terminate at the free edge of the second panel and the first panel has a second set of sensory attributes which are adjacent the free edge of the second panel. In the present invention, at least one attribute from the first set of sensory attributes or at least one attribute from the second set of attributes is different from attributes from the other set. The different attribute provides a contrast between the second panel and the first panel, and this contrast provides a sensory cue providing clear indicia as to the location of the free edge of the second panel. Also provided is a method of using the personal care product and wrapper. The sensory cue can also be used to direct a user as to how to open the wrapper.

摘要: A personal care article (20) has a longitudinal-direction (22), a relatively shorter, lateral cross-direction (24), a first end-section (72), a second end-section (72a), and an intermediate-section (76). The article has been operatively connected in facing relation with a wrap member (98), and the article has been folded about a first, laterally extending supplemental-fold-region (64). The article and a corresponding section of the wrap member have been folded about a second, laterally extending supplemental-fold-region (66). A preliminary-folded article (82) and a corresponding, preliminary-folded wrap member have been provided after the article has been folded about both the first and second supplemental-fold-regions. The preliminary-folded article and wrap member have also been folded along a laterally extending, composite-fold-region (96a) of both the preliminary-folded article and wrap member, to provide a composite-folded, wrapped article (114).

摘要: A feminine care absorbent article that contains multiple printed patterns of graphical objects visible from a body facing surface is provided. The layout and design of the patterns are carefully selected in the present invention to achieve a synergistic masking effect that helps visually disguise the presence of bodily fluids or stains around the periphery of the article. Such “passive” stain masking is achieved, in part, through the use of printed patterns that are distributed in an asymmetric manner about both the longitudinal and transverse centerlines of the article. The printed patterns are also located at or near the periphery of the article and at least partially extend into portions of the body facing surface that overlie the absorbent core. The pattern design is also such that a majority of an interior zone of the absorbent article is generally free of printed graphical objects.

摘要: An article (20) comprises a deformation-control member which can include an extending medial section (38), and a selected stiffened region (34). The stiffened region (34) can include a first array (40) of individual, stiffening elements (35), and at least a second array (50) of individual, stiffening elements (37). In particular features, each of the first and second arrays (40, 50) of stiffening elements can have a convergently arranged nose-end (70, 78), and a relatively divergently arranged tail-end (74, 80). In another feature, the first and second arrays (40, 50) of stiffening elements (35, 37) can be configured to substantially avoid intersecting in the medial section (38) of the deformation-control member. In a further feature, the second array (50) of stiffening elements (37) can have a counter-positioned configuration relative to the first array (40) of stiffening elements (35).

摘要: The present invention discloses and claims an absorbent article having a liquid permeable cover, a generally liquid impermeable baffle, and segmented absorbent pads that are transversely separated by a flexible zone. The flexible zone is minimally absorbent and preferentially deforms before the segmented absorbent pads. Lateral force on the absorbent article compresses the flexible zone and reduces the transverse width of the absorbent article.

At least a portion of the second end-section has been folded along or otherwise includes a second end-fold-region (66) which is substantially convex along the backsheet-side of the article. In other aspects, the article can include a first, lengthwise-fold-region (58) in the first end-section, a second, lengthwise-fold-region (62) in the second end-section, and a third, lengthwise-fold-region (68) in the intermediate section. Additionally, the first lengthwise-fold-region can have a first, fold-direction that is opposite a third, fold-direction of the third lengthwise-fold-region.

The article has been folded about a first, supplemental-fold-region (64) and a second, supplemental-fold-region (66) to provide a preliminary-folded article (82). The preliminary-folded article has been operatively enclosed in a wrap member (98), and the preliminary-folded article and wrap member have been folded along a composite-fold-region (96a) to provide a composite-folded, wrapped-article (114). The wrap member has included a wrap retainer mechanism (112) which has been configured to operatively hold the composite-folded, article and wrap member in their composite-folded condition.
