The matching circuit matches the pixel data as the extracted candidate blocks against the pixel data as the input reference block using the block-matching process to obtain a motion vector relative to the reference block.

摘要： A motion determining apparatus for detecting a motion of a partial picture of an input picture signal is disclosed, that comprises a first motion detecting portion for comparing a frame difference detected for the partial picture with a predetermined threshold value and determining that the partial picture has a motion when the frame difference is larger than the threshold value, a second motion detecting portion for comparing a frame difference detected for the partial picture with a predetermined threshold value, comparing a field difference detected for the partial picture with a predetermined threshold value, and determining that there is a motion of an artificial picture when the frame difference and the field difference are larger than the respective threshold values, and an output portion for forming motion determination data with determination data that is output from the first motion detecting portion and the second motion detecting portion.

摘要： The present invention provides users with functions matching their preferences. In an information processing apparatus, a user-information analyzing unit analyzes user information and calculates a variation in parameter. A procedure selecting unit classifies, based on the calculated amount, the user into a predetermined group, and acquires, from a procedure database, a procedure corresponding to the group of the user. A basic part producing unit records, in a product's ROM, various set values. Based on the result of analysis by the user-information analyzing unit, a unique part producing unit records an initial parameter value in the product's ROM. A system controller controls a storage unit to store a characteristic amount extracted by an image-characteristic-amount extracting unit and setting conditions on the image processing which are supplied from a remote control signal receiving circuit so that both are associated to each other. The present invention may apply to television receivers.

摘要： A semiconductor device and an image data processing apparatus are capable of easily realizing address control, simplifying a circuit for address control, and easily realizing access to image data while reducing the volumes of pieces of image data of different resolutions in different hierarchies. In the image data processing apparatus, a memory cell array stores pieces of composite data, each containing a piece of pixel data and additional information data, for example, a motion vector associated with the pixel data. A designated pixel data and a motion vector associated with the pixel data are read out and a search region is suitably predicted and set up on the basis of the motion vector, and motion estimation is performed in the search region, for example, by a block matching process. Accordingly, motion estimation can be performed in a small search region equivalent to a large search region having been generally used for motion estimation, to realize high-speed, high-efficient motion estimation and improve the estimation accuracy.

摘要： A 525i (interlace) signal can be converted into a 1050i signal or a 525p (progressive) signal. A calculating circuit generates pixels of an output picture signal with a linear estimation expression of predictive taps received from a tap selecting circuit and a coefficient received from a coefficient memory. The coefficient memory stores coefficients pre-obtained for individual classes. A class is determined by combining a spatial class corresponding to spatial class taps received from a tap selecting circuit and motion class taps received from a tap selecting circuit. A line sequential converting circuit converts a scanning line structure of an output signal of the calculating circuit 34 and obtains an output picture signal. The output picture signal is designated with a conversion method selection signal. Information corresponding to the selection signal is loaded from an information memory bank to the coefficient memory and registers.
