    摘要： First display (4) comprising a liquid crystal display is provided on the external surface of the first case body (1). In the near proximity of the first display (4), a non-voice radio communications service start button (5), scroll buttons (6a), (6b), and a selection/decision button (7) are provided. On the internal surface of the first case body (1), the second display 8, on the side of which is provided an antenna 9 retractable slantwise, is provided. In the first case body (1) is embedded a magnet (18) and in the second case body (2) is embedded a lead switch (19). When the main unit is folded to bring the magnet (18) in close proximity to the lead switch (19), the lead switch is turned ON. When the main unit is unfolded to place the magnet (18) apart from the lead switch (19), the lead switch is turned OFF. This allows detection of folding/unfolding of the case body.

    摘要： When the key operation area is pressed, a decision is made about whether the key is pre-registered a single button dialing telephone number or not (step 3). In case a decision is made that a single button dialing telephone number is pre-registered to the key in step 3, the timer starts when the key is pressed (step 6). In case the key is held down for the predetermined period (T1), an operation to instruct single button dialing via a so-called hold-down operation is assumed, thus causing the single button dialing telephone number pre-registered to the key held down to appear on the display (step 8). When a predetermined period (T2) has elapsed with the key held down (step 9), an operation to instruct a call origination to the telephone number on the display is assumed and a call is originated then conversation starts depending on the answer of the distant party (step 10). Keys on the cover can be used to operate keys on the body.

    摘要： A first display (4) comprising a liquid crystal display is provided on the outer surface of a first case body (1). In the near proximity of the first display (4), a call start button (5), a call release button (6), and a so-called navigation key (7) having an arrow key for scrolling in four directions and a center key for selecting and determining target information. A second display (8) is provided on the inner surface of the first case body (1). An antenna 9 is provided retractable slantwise on the side of the second case body (2). A magnet (18) is embedded in the first case body (1), and a lead switch 19 is embedded in the second case body (2). When the main body is folded to bring the magnet (18) in close proximity to the lead switch (19), the lead switch is turned ON. When the main body is unfolded to place the magnet (18) apart from the lead switch (19), the lead switch is turned OFF. This allows detection of folding/unfolding of the main body. At the lower portion of the side where the antenna (9) is located, an earphone microphone jack 37 is provided.

In the flip electronic device, slight clearances are formed between bearings (3a), (3b), (4a), (4b) for rotatably connecting first and second enclosures (1), (2), and cylindrical members (13), (14) formed coaxially with the bearings (3a), (3b), (4a), (4b), and hence rain water may enter through these clearances. Therefore, water-absorbing members (19), (20) are mounted to an end of a printed wiring assembly (17), and rain water entered through the clearances is absorbed by the water absorbing members (19), (20), so as to prevent an electric circuit located in the enclosure from being affected.

    摘要： In a portable telephone, a display device, a telephone receiver, a ten-numeral entry key, a telephone transmitter, and the like are mounted on surface sides of a first housing (1) and a second housing (2), which are located on inner sides thereof when the first housing and the second housing are closed, both the first housing and the second housing being hinged to each other via a hinge portion in a freely openable/closable manner; and a speaker for producing at least a telephone call-receiving sound is provided on the surface side of any one of the first housing, the second housing, and the hinge portion. Also, a sound projection portion (12) for projecting the telephone call-receiving sound produced from the speaker is formed in a side of the portion where the speaker is provided even under such a condition that the first housing and the second housing are closed. As a result, the speaker sounds can be projected forwardly in sufficiently high levels even under such a condition that the first and second housings are opened, and furthermore, the telephone call-receiving sound can also be heard in sufficiently high levels even under such a condition that the first and second housings are closed.
