    摘要: A chamber room is located between a bumper reinforcement and a bumper cover in a vehicle front-rear direction. The chamber room is deformed with a relative movement of the bumper cover to the bumper reinforcement in the event of the collision. A pressure sensor is located in the chamber room to detect a pressure change in the chamber room. A touch sensor is located between the bumper reinforcement and the bumper cover to detect contact with the bumper cover. The touch sensor and the chamber room are located at different positions in a vehicle top-bottom direction. It is determined whether collision occurs based on the detection results of the pressure sensor and the touch sensor.

    摘要: A collision detection apparatus for a vehicle includes a bumper reinforcement, a chamber forming member, a pressure sensor, collision object determining unit, and a collision position sensor. The bumper reinforcement is mounted on the vehicle and extends in a transverse direction of the vehicle. The chamber forming member is provided at a side of the bumper reinforcement and defines a chamber space that is deformable when the object collides with the vehicle. The pressure sensor detects pressure in the chamber space. The collision object determining unit determines a category of the object by comparing the pressure detected by the pressure sensor with a predetermined determination threshold value. The collision position sensor detects a transverse position, at which the object collides. The determining unit changes the determination threshold value based on the collision position detected by the collision position sensor.

    摘要: A device for detecting a collision of a vehicle with an obstacle includes an enclosed space positioned behind a front bumper cover. Deformation or displacement of the bumper cover due to a collision is transmitted to the enclosed space. Air pressure in the enclosed space and its temperature are measured by sensors and electrical signals representing the pressure and the temperature are fed to an electronic control unit that determines whether the enclosed space is hermetically closed or not based on the pressure and the temperature of the air in the enclosed space. If the enclosed space becomes non-hermetical due to a collision impact, the air therein leaks and the pressure therein becomes atmospheric pressure irrespective of the temperature of the air in the enclosed space. Therefore, the hermetical condition of the enclosed space is surely detected.

If the time period T is longer than the time period Tth, it is determined that the vehicle collided with a pedestrian.

    摘要: A switch is disposed between a power source and an activating element for activating a passenger protection apparatus. The switch detects a vehicle collision and closes its contacts to supply activating current to the activating element. A capacitor is connected in parallel with the activating element in order to charge momentarily when the switch closes. In this manner, it is possible to activate the activating element accurately because the activating element continues to be supplied with activating current by means of the charging voltage of the capacitor, even when the switch only closes for a time which is insufficient to activate the activating element.

    摘要: The electronic safing system is provided with a safing sensor, a comparator, and a microcomputer. The microcomputer has a programmable analog I/O port which is connected to a built-in AD-DA converter. The programmable analog I/O port can be switched to an analog input port and an analog output port according to an internal register. The programmable analog I/O port is connected to an input terminal of the comparator. When diagnosing the comparing circuit, the microcomputer switches the programmable analog I/O port to the analog output port and outputs a predetermined voltage for diagnosis. Then, the microcomputer diagnoses the comparing circuit by monitoring the output of the comparing circuit.

    摘要: A collision detection device is provided with a coil which is arranged at an inner side of an outer panel of a body portion of a vehicle and faces the outer panel to generate a magnetic field in a direction toward the outer panel, and a collision determining unit for determining a collision with the body portion of the vehicle based on a variation of an inductance of the coil. The collision determining unit includes a resonance circuit which is constructed of the coil. When there occurs a collision with the vehicle body portion, a distance between the outer panel and the coil will decrease so that an inductance of the coil can instantly decrease. Therefore, a resonance frequency of the resonance circuit will increase and be detected, thus shortening the response time.
