摘要: An object-sensing bumper extension comprises a durable and flexible material. The bumper extension is connected to the bumper of a vehicle such as a lift truck to detect encroachment and/or impact between the vehicle and an operator or other object. A non-contact sensor detects encroachment of an object within an impact danger zone arranged immediately in front of and near the sides of the vehicle. An impact sensor detects impact between the vehicle and an object. A control system receives sensor signals and initiates a reaction operation of the vehicle in response to sensor activity. The reaction operation can include slowing the vehicle down, stopping the vehicle, and/or reversing the vehicle. The bumper extension can include a plurality of outwardly angled, substantially parallel ridges that deform outwardly and downwardly to push an impacted object away from danger and to fill a gap between the vehicle and the ground.

摘要: A holding device for a motor vehicle sensor system, including a frame attached to a structural element of a motor vehicle and a sensor holder configured to hold sensors. First/second pivoting brackets are mounted on first/second sides of the frame to be pivotable about a first/second pivot axis. First/second guide element of the first/second pivoting bracket are accommodated in at least one first/second guiding receptacle of the sensor holder. A pre-tensioning mechanism pre-tensions the first/second pivoting brackets into a usage position by applying a predetermined force onto the sensor holder to overcome the pre-tension so that the sensor holder can be lowered along a movement direction in the direction of the frame, such that a first distance between the first pivot axis and the second pivot axis is smaller than a second distance between the at least one guiding receptacle and the at least one second guiding receptacle.

摘要: A sensor arrangement for a vehicle includes a holding device holding a sensor and a connection arrangement connecting a holding device to a vehicle component. The connection arrangement moves the holding device between an operating position and at least one protecting position. The connection arrangement includes at least one lever arrangement that moves the holding device from the operating position to the at least one protecting position in response to an application of a collision force against the vehicle such that the holding device moves in at least one spatial direction including a first spatial direction, which corresponds to a first force component of the collision force. The connection arrangement includes at least one restoring arrangement that generates a restoring force applied against the at least one lever arrangement to move the holding device from the protecting position back to the operating position.

The second protrusion is disposed above the first protrusion in an upward direction.

摘要: A system for airbag deployment within a vehicle may include an airbag, a bumper beam, at least one sensor, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The bumper beam may include a left crush can and a right crush can. The left crush can and the right crush can may each include a first zone associated with a first stiffness in a vehicle longitudinal direction and a second zone associated with a second stiffness in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The sensor may receive one or more signals associated with an impact on the vehicle. The ECU may deploy the airbag at a timing based on one or more characteristics of one or more of the signals and one or more predetermined characteristics associated with the first stiffness of the first zone and the second stiffness of the second zone, thereby providing robust discrimination between a front flat impact mode and an front offset impact mode.
