Abstract:
The present invention is to provide a novel method for manufacturing various organic compounds from two or more kinds of alcohol, or one kind of alcohol having three or more carbon atoms. It is a method for synthesizing one kind of, or two or more kinds of organic compounds comprising allowing two or more kinds of alcohol or one kind of alcohol having three or more carbon atoms to contact a calcium phosphate catalyst such as hydroxyapatite, or hydrotalcite.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide compositions comprising organic compounds useful as a chemical industrial material or a fuel composition with the use of an alcohol such as ethanol as a material. It is a method for producing compositions using alcohol as a starting material and comprising: allowing alcohol to contact with an alcohol conversion catalyst such as hydroxyapatite (first step) and conducting a hydrogenation reaction respectively for all reaction products consisting of a liquid phase including alcohols, water and hydrocarbons of 4-12 carbons and a gas phase which is light gas containing paraffins, alcohols and olefins; all liquid phase reaction products consisting of all reaction products from which light gas has been removed; a liquid phase dehydration reaction products consisting of all reaction products from which light gas, unreacted alcohol and product water have been removed; and light gas (second step).
Abstract:
A push type scanner apparatus according to the present invention can transmit image data read by the push type scanner apparatus through a network to a desired personal computer only by operating the push type scanner apparatus without transmitting any operation command from the personal computer. In the push type scanner apparatus, for transmitting image data, a destination address is specified; a mail to be transmitted to the specified destination address is created; an appended file comprising the image data read by the scanner apparatus and appended to the mail is created; and the created mail and appended file are outputted to the network.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus is operative to avoid user confusion during a job-cancelling operation. A job executing portion of the apparatus executes at least one of a copy job, a print job, a facsimile reception job, an e-mail reception job, a facsimile transmission job, and an e-mail transmission job. A suspending portion of the apparatus suspends a printing-out operation of a running job in response to pressing a stop/clear key. A job list screen display controller allows a display portion to display a suspending job list screen for showing a user a suspended job and a waiting job. A cancel job selection receiving portion receives a user selection of a job to be cancelled among the jobs displayed on the suspending job list screen. A job cancelling portion then cancels the job received by the cancel job selection receiving portion.
Abstract:
An image reading device and image forming device has an operation device provided with keys for reducing the number of operations. A shortcut key display screen having a shortcut key to which an arbitrary function among a plurality of functions may be allocated thereto is displayable on a display unit. At least one function setting screen has an allocation instruction key for allocating a function to the shortcut key. When the allocation instruction key is selected, a series of functions set, before the function setting screen having the allocation instruction key is displayed on the display screen, is allocated to the shortcut key.

Abstract:
A fuel cell having a structure capable of certainly supplying a gas by making effective use of a limited space while ensuring the portability of the fuel cell is provided. The fuel cell includes two generators, a fuel supply portion, and two planar current collectors. Each of the generators has a proton conductor film, and a planar hydrogen side electrode and a planar oxygen side electrode disposed with the proton conductor film held therebetween. The fuel supply portion is adapted to supply a fuel to the hydrogen side electrodes of the generators. The planar current collectors, which are disposed in close-contact with the oxygen side electrodes of the generators, have gas transmission portions such as opening portions allowing the oxygen side electrodes to be opened to atmosphere. Since the oxygen side electrodes are opened to atmosphere, oxygen can be supplied to the generators without lowering a partial pressure of oxygen in air.
Abstract:
An apparatus for automatically exchanging a number of record medium cassettes includes a housing, a cassette storing device arranged within said housing for storing the cassettes, recording and reproducing devices arranged within said housing for recording and reproducing information on and from the record medium cassettes, a cassette transporting device arranged within said housing for transporting a plurality of cassette hand over units, a mail box having a cassette supply room and a cassette receipt room, a transport unit for transporting the cassettes between the cassette hand over units and the mail box. By using a plurality of cassette hand over units, the cassettes can be transported efficiently. By using the mail box, a new cassette can be automatically supplied into the housing and an unnecessary cassette can be automatically removed from the housing.
Abstract:
A method for increasing the yield of alcohols by a Guerbet reaction in a gas phase and reducing production cost is provided. A method for producing alcohols by a Guerbet reaction, wherein the reaction is performed in a gas phase and at a total pressure of less than 1 atm and preferably from 0.01 to 0.5 atm, using one or more raw material alcohols.
Abstract:
A data transmission apparatus having a plurality of data transmission functions includes: a transmission operation storage device that, for each data transmission function, stores recipient information that was input during an immediately prior transmission operation; a selecting device that selects one data transmission function from a plurality of data transmission functions; an operation content reading device that reads contents of transmission operations; a resend executing device that reads recipient information for the data transmission function selected from the transmission function storage device by the selecting device, and executes a transmission operation based on the read recipient information; and a transmission executing device that stores the read operation content in the transmission operation storage device as recipient information for the data transmission function selected by the selecting device, and executes a transmission operation based on the read operation content.
