摘要:
Methods and systems of estimating usage of components within an application environment can use statistical, rather than deterministic methods that may be too intrusive or disturb a network used by the application environment. Different transaction types may have estimated usage of components within the application environment and its corresponding confidence level (that the transaction type uses that specific component) calculated and presented to a user. Asynchronous data and data routinely generated by a component may be used. The workload and utilization data may be conditioned before determining the estimated usage to smooth and filter data and determine accuracy of the correlations.

A system and method can use statistical modeling of the way that an entire application environment is running. The output from the statistical models can be used by an optimization engine to provide an optimal or near optimal configuration and operation of the application environment for nearly any workloads and conditions. After constructing the statistical models, the operation can be entirely automated and not require human intervention. In another embodiment, some human intervention may be used or desired, particularly for non-reoccurring events (e.g., significant portion of a network for the application environment shut down due to a natural disaster). The system and method can be used to respond faster (closer to real time) and potentially to implement better control than would otherwise be possible with manual control. The system and method is particularly well suited for application environments that are in a nearly constant state of flux.

Methods of determining which components and their capacities within a distributed computing environment are used for a transaction type can be performed faster and more accurately compared to conventional methods. In one embodiment by separating the transaction types into groups, regression can be performed faster on data collected because the data is less “polluted” by some or all other transactions types. Also, selection of transaction types within each group can reduce or eliminate colinearities in data between different transaction types. In still another embodiment, the distributed computing environment can be allowed to catch up between running each group of transaction types. Alternatively, if multiple instances of a component are present, transactions may be routed based on transaction type to reduce the impact. Data processing system readable media can include code that includes instructions for carrying out the methods.

A system and method is provided for controlling a distributed computing environment. The distributed computing environment is controlled by controlling flows, streams, and pipes used by applications within the distributed computing environment. The controls on each of the flows, streams, and pipes include latency, priority, a connection throttle, and a network packet throttle. Parameters for determining the values for each of the controls are based on any one or more of Virtual Local Area Network Identifier (VLAN ID), source address, destination address, source port, destination port, protocol, connection request, and transaction type load tag.

An internal combustion rotary engine comprising a housing, at least one sun wheel centered about the central axis and positioned within one of at least one cylindrical compartment of the housing, and including a sun wheel circumference and at least one semicylindrical receptable defined along the sun wheel circumference, at least one lobe extending from an inner cylindrical surface of the compartment, and at least one planet wheel received in the at least one semicylindrical receptable of the sun wheel. The at least one planet wheel may be configured to engage the inner cylindrical surface of the cylindrical compartment and include at least one indentation configured to be received by the at least one lobe when the at least one planet wheel rotates along the inner cylindrical surface. Air intake and compression as well as combustion and exhaust may be performed within the same or different compartments of the at least one cylindrical compartment.

A baby calming device is disclosed herein. The baby calming device includes a shield member having an upper and lower portion, a plurality of apertures located in the upper portion of the shield member, a protrusion extending from a top surface of the shield member, and an elongate member extending from a bottom surface of the shield member. The elongate member includes a plurality of segments having grooves and projections. The present device is useful for calming a baby while providing novel entertainment to others surrounding the baby.

A heat-shrink tube for an electrical power cable comprises a sleeve having an insulating inner layer, a conductive outer layer and a thermoplastic mid-layer located between the inner and outer layers. The mid-layer is recovered by the application of heat thereto. The insulating inner layer is preferably comprised of an elastomeric material and the thermoplastic mid-layer is rigid and acts to retain the inner layer in a radially expanded state prior to its recovery.

A mounting device includes a base having a first surface and a second opposite surface, the first surface having a supporting surface and an engaging member having an engaging surface. The engaging member can include an elongated flexible member with a headed end having the engaging surface. The mounting devices can be mounted on a surface of a substrate, e.g. an automotive transparency, to provide a panel, and the panels can be fixedly secured over an opening, e.g. an opening in the body of a vehicle, without the use of structural adhesive.

A method for using electrical stimulation to achieve a physiological reaction in an individual using an electronic stimulation device is described. The electronic stimulation device is used to apply a waveform to the individual. The waveform includes at least a plurality of packets. Each of the plurality of packets includes a plurality of pulses. A plurality of variables associated with the waveform are controlled to provide a waveform shape for achieving the physiological reaction in the individual.
