摘要: An OLED device comprises a cathode, an anode, and has therebetween a light-emitting layer containing a phosphorescent emitter and a host comprising a first aluminum or gallium complex containing at least one 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)pyridine ligand and at least one phenoxy ligand, wherein the phenoxy ligand is substituted by an amine or there is further present adjacent to the light-emitting layer on the cathode side a layer containing a second aluminum or gallium complex containing at least one 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)pyridine ligand and at least one phenoxy ligand.

摘要: An OLED device comprises a cathode and anode and having therebetween a light-emitting layer, wherein there is located between the cathode and the light-emitting layer a further layer, not contiguous to the light-emitting layer, containing a metal complex of 3 bidentate ligands having Formula (1): wherein: each Za and each Zb is independently selected and each represents the atoms necessary to complete an unsaturated ring; Za and Zb are directly bonded to one another provided Za and Zb may be further linked together to form a fused ring system; and wherein the further layer also comprises an alkali metal material. Materials of the invention provide offer good luminance and reduced drive voltage.

摘要: A method for forming a color organic light-emitting device including depositing a first electrode over a substrate; depositing a first emissive layer over the first electrode for producing a first colored light in response to hole-electron recombination; and selectively patternwise depositing a hole-blocking layer over the first emissive layer. The method also includes depositing a second emissive layer over the hole-blocking layer which in response to hole-electron recombination emits colored light different from the colored light emitted from the first emissive layer; depositing a second electrode over the second emissive layer; and whereby the patternwise deposition of the hole-blocking layer has been selected to substantially shift hole-electron recombination from the second to the first emissive layers.

摘要: An OLED device comprises a cathode, an anode, and a light-emitting layer therebetween, and additionally comprises a layer between the cathode and the light-emitting layer including a phenanthroline compound comprising no more than two optionally substituted phenanthroline moieties wherein one and only one group substituted on a phenanthroline nucleus includes an aromatic system comprising four or more fused aromatic rings. Such a device provides desirable electroluminescent properties, such as increased luminance and reduced drive voltage, as well as good device stability.

摘要: An OLED device comprises a cathode, an anode, and having therebetween a light emitting layer, the device further comprising a layer on the cathode side of the emitting layer containing an anthracene compound bearing a diarylamine group; provided either (1) there is present an organic layer contiguous to the cathode that is substantially free of an anthracene compound bearing a diarylamine group, or (2) there are present independently selected diarylamine groups in both the 9- and 10-positions of the anthracene. The invention provides an improved combination of efficiency, operational lifetime, and lower operational voltage.

When such materials are included in a layer, such as an electron-transporting layer, that provide both desirable electroluminescent properties as well as good device stability.
