摘要: A driving circuit of an electro-optical device wherein one field is divided into p (p is an integer that is equal to or more than two) groups and each group is divided into two sub-fields. The p groups each are set to have the length of a time period that is equal to one another. The 2p sub-fields that constitute the one field are set to different lengths of time periods in such a manner that a boundary between two sub-fields of each group is shifted by a predetermined interval compared to the boundary between the two sub-fields of the preceding group. The different gray scale values are expressed by turning on a single sub-field or n (n is an integral number that is equal to two or more and that is equal to or less than 2p) sub-fields that are adjacent to each other.

摘要: An exemplary embodiment provides an electro-optical device having an improved display quality of moving picture, while obtaining the display uniformity in a screen by suppressing a crosstalk. The electro-optical device according to the invention can include a plurality of pixels are arranged in an image display region and a driving circuit unit for driving the pixels in a matrix. The driving circuit unit divides data of one frame into a plurality of data corresponding to a plurality of fields, one of data of two continuous fields being image data and the other being black display data. The data of the two continuous fields is alternately written in every one horizontal period while changing the starting time of the writing-in of each field within one vertical period, and the polarity of data signal is inversed fields against a predetermined electric potential between the two continuous. As a result, the image display region and black display region are simultaneously formed in a screen, and then the execution of a pseudo impulse-type display can be performed. Further, the occurrence of discrimination can be avoided since the pseudo field-inversion driving is executed every region. On the other hand, the crosstalk can be avoided since a line-inversion driving can be executed for the data line.

摘要: Exemplary embodiments of the present invention provide an image rearranging unit that synthesizes an input image with a delayed signal thereof and arranges an image having a horizontal frequency n times larger than a horizontal frequency of the input image in a signal arrangement according to scanning of a scanning driver, to thereby obtain a write image. The scanning driver selects n scanning lines spaced apart from each other in one horizontal period of the input image and drives pixels with image signals having the same polarity between most adjacent lines. Thus, a horizontal electric field can be reduced or prevented by a plane inversion driving. Adjacent to a blanking period having a polarity, a write operation by an image signal having an opposite polarity is performed. In this case, however, a low level blanking signal, for example, is also used, instead of a blanking signal. Thus, in the blanking period, the write operation of the image signal is not affected by a high black level ghost. As a result, display quality can be reduced or prevented from deteriorating.
