While repeating alternately between each of the display panels in a display period within a one frame period, an operation sequentially selects a number of the scanning lines of each of these display panels corresponding to the ratio of the numbers of the scanning lines in each of these display panels at predetermined scan timing. Reversal control of the signal polarity of each common signal voltage is applied to the common electrode of each display panel so that reversal drive of each display panel is performed for every scanning line and frame period.
