    摘要: A technique for achieving both discharge voltage reduction and discharge stabilization in a PDP and the like is provided. This PDP manufacturing method includes, for a structure of a front plate structure (11) to be exposed to a discharge space (30) to be filled with a discharge gas, a step of forming a first layer (4) having an effect of discharge protective layer on a dielectric layer (3), a step of forming a second layer (5) for protecting the first layer on the first layer, and a step of forming a third layer (6) of a powder for discharge stabilization to be exposed to the discharge space (30), the steps being performed in vacuum manufacturing process. And, the structure is made such that a surface of the first layer is exposed to the discharge space (30) by a step of removing the second layer by an aging discharge in the discharge space (30).

A typical embodiment of the present invention is a method of manufacturing a PDP in which a priming particle emitting layer which contains magnesium oxide crystal powder subjected to a high-temperature heating treatment is arranged to be exposed to a discharge space, wherein, in a thermal treatment process of raw material magnesium oxide crystal powder, the high-temperature heating treatment is performed after shapes and sizes of the magnesium oxide crystal powder are uniformed.

    摘要: There is provided a technique for discharge stabilization of a plasma display panel by forming magnesium oxide with a large diameter and adjusting residual amounts of impurities contained in the magnesium oxide. That is, discharge stabilization material particle, which is coated on a protective-film layer of protecting electrodes and supplies sufficient amount of priming particles into a discharge gap, is focused. By setting each impurity concentration in the magnesium oxide used as the discharge stabilization material particle to 20 ppm or lower, discharge time lag is suppressed.

    摘要: A plasma display device capable of realizing an interlace drive in one line display and an interlace drive in two lines display by switching thereof without deteriorating display quality, is provided. The interlace drive in one line display and the interlace drive in two lines display are realized such that: the interlace drive in one line display is performed by applying a sustain pulse for even display lines or odd display lines within a plasma display panel in each frame; and the interlace drive in two lines display is performed by applying the sustain pulse while setting the even display lines and the odd display lines adjacent above and below as one set and writing an identical data thereto. In addition, the all-cell reset is performed once per unit time at the interlace drive in two lines display, and an increase of background luminance is prevented by suppressing the increase in the number of times of the all-cell reset in the two lines display.
