摘要: Disadvantages relating to ink refill specific to an increase in a number of ink ejection openings in an ink jet print head is eliminated to provide a particularly excellent fast-response capability and ejection performance. More specifically, when an ink is supplied to a liquid chamber via an ink supply path and an ink supply opening formed in a support member and a print element substrate in a print head, and is then ejected from ejection openings, a pressure of an ink effected upon the ejection is transmitted to the ink supply path. This pressure, however, can be absorbed by air chambers via communication paths to reduce adverse effects of the pressure on ink refill in the liquid path after the ejection. In this case, since the air chambers and other components are structured to be closed with respect to the atmosphere, problems such as an increase in viscosity which are associated with communication of the air chambers and other components with the atmosphere can be prevented.

摘要: Provided are a recording head, recording apparatus, recording method, and recording head which are cartridge using the recording head, capable of correcting the offset of recording dot position in the direction of movement of the recording head, with a simple structure. A plurality of columns of image data corresponding to the plurality of recording devices relating to recording is held and image data corresponding to the column to be recorded is selected from this held image data and recording is thus performed, so that the driving column and recording column can be changed for each nozzle. Consequently, positional offset of dots can be adjusted for each nozzle.

摘要: First humidified gas is supplied from a first supply port to a sheet to be conveyed, thereby increasing the moisture content of the sheet. Simultaneously, second humidified gas is supplied to a space where nozzles of the inkjet recording head are exposed, from a second supply port provided at a position closer to the inkjet recording head than the first supply port, thereby increasing the atmosphere humidity of the space. The part of the sheet of which the moisture content has been increased is made to enter the space where the atmosphere humidity has been increased, and recording is performed by the inkjet recording head.

摘要: An increase in variation in resistance value resulting from a reduction in thickness of heaters is dealt with without increasing the manufacture costs of the print head, by allowing smaller ink droplets to be efficiently ejected. A setting for a pulse voltage essentially varied depending on the ejection threshold energy of the head is employed so that optimum drive power conditions can be reasonably set over a range of varying resistance values resulting from differences among manufactured print heads. This provides a print head and a printing apparatus which can deal with an increase in differences among manufactured heads by allowing smaller ink droplets to be efficiently ejected without reducing the yield of manufactured print heads.

摘要: A printhead compatible with various printers, e.g. a printer having low print density or a printer having high print density, enables printing in the best capability of the printer. The printhead comprises: a determination circuit 24 which determines a type of a printer incorporating the printhead, and switches SW1 and SW2 which select a method of driving the printhead according to in the printer, on the basis of the determination result by the determination circuit 24. When the printhead is installed in the printer capable of printing at 360 dpi, four print dots printed at 720 dpi substantially express one dot printed at 360 dpi. Meanwhile, when the printhead is installed in the printer capable of printing at 720 dpi, one print dot expresses one dot printed at 720 dpi.

摘要: A high-density magneto-optical recording medium having excellent jitter properties is provided. A pattern-dependent shift of the length of a recorded mark does not occur even when a minute mark has increased sensitivity to a recording magnetic field. A magneto-optical recording medium has at least a displacement layer, a memory layer, and an auxiliary memory layer. A mark with a length up to the diffraction-limit of the optical system is recorded and read out. The magneto-optical recording medium includes an in-plane magnetization-inducing layer principally made of cobalt on the auxiliary memory layer.

摘要: In the present invention, a processing liquid and an ink are ejected so that ejected regions of the processing liquid ejected in each scan by a printing head and image regions printed by black (Bk) ink printed in each scan are mutually shifted in an auxiliary scanning direction. By this, when ejection of the processing liquid is to be performed in each scan, the image region of the Bk ink ejected on the processing liquid in the preceding scan is offset from a boundary of the region, to which the processing liquid is to be ejected. Therefore, overlapping of the processing liquid on the portion where the Bk ink and the processing liquid are overlapped in the preceding scan, can be avoided. Accordingly, when printing is performed by ejecting the ink and the processing liquid which makes a coloring agent in the ink insoluble, drop-out or deterioration of color due to overlap of the processing liquid in the joint portion of the image formed in each scan by the printing head can be eliminated.
