摘要： A feedback control apparatus in an optical recording and reproducing device for recording, reproducing and/or erasing data from an optical recording medium projects a light beam emitted from an optical head onto the optical recording medium. The apparatus includes an actuator for controlling the illuminating conditions of the light beam projected onto the optical recording medium, a detection unit for detecting the illuminating conditions of the light beam projected onto the optical recording medium, and a control amplifier for driving the actuator in accordance with a detection signal outputted from the detection unit, thereby controlling the illuminating conditions of the light beam projected onto the recording medium. The apparatus further includes a switching device for selectively switching from a detection signal from the detection unit to a reference signal, or vice versa, and for inputting into the control amplifier, the reference signal having the same signal level as that of a detection signal which is expected to be outputted from the detection unit when the illuminating conditions of the light beam projected onto the recording medium are appropriate. An offset compensation device outputs an offset compensation signal to the control amplifier. The offset compensation signal is set such that a control signal generated in the control amplifier has a predetermined signal level when the reference signal is inputted into the control amplifier. The apparatus prevents a DC offset from being included in the control signal from the control amplifier and reduces the procedures required for adjustment during the manufacturing process without employing expensive parts and devices and the like, thereby lowering the production costs.

摘要： The invention provides an improvement of the conventional laser driving circuit mainly including a control logic circuit, a reproducing power producing circuit, and a recording power producing circuit for preventing a recording film of a disk from being damaged by a laser in a reproducing mode. The improved respect is addition of a voltage monitoring circuit and a bypass transistor for an abnormal signal. The voltage monitoring circuit monitors a voltage drop caused in the control logic circuit and supplies a voltage abnormality indicating signal, thereby causing the bypass transistor to be conductive for allowing the abnormal signal to be flown therethrough.

摘要： An apparatus for recording and reproducing information on and from an optical disk includes a first control for producing a first control signal for controlling the rotational speed of a rotational driving apparatus, on the basis of the detected radial position; a judging apparatus which judges whether or not the reproduced signals are reproduced from a recorded region of the optical disk; a second control for producing a second control signal for controlling the rotational speed of the rotational driving apparatus, on the basis of the signals reproduced from the disk; and a switch apparatus which switches the circuit so that the rotational driving apparatus is controlled by the first control signal when the reproduced signals are not reproduced from a non-recorded region, and controlled by the second control signal when the reproduced signals are reproduced from a recorded region.

摘要： A track access operation system for an optical recording and reproducing apparatus using a medium having a plurality of guide grooves and ID sections utilized for identifying a particular guide groove. The intensity of reflected light and transmitted light from each of a plurality of light beams projected on the recording medium is monitored for determining the location of the beam on the disk. The system is designed such that at least either the plurality of light beams or the plurality of ID sections of the guide grooves are so arranged such that more than half of the light beams or more than half of the ID sections do not overlap in a parallel direction along the guide grooves whereby the number of light beams simultaneously projected on the ID sections is limited to less than half of the total number of light beams projected on the recording medium. Accordingly, even when the collection of light beams move in a perpendicular direction to the guide grooves, the number of pulses in the pulse signal is not influenced by the ID signals but coincident with the number of the guiding grooves through which the light beams have actually passed. With use of the optical memory system having such an arrangement, an accurate measurement of light beam movement is obtained resulting in high accuracy of access operations.

摘要： A recording and reproducing device, which records and reproduces information on and from a rewritable recording medium having absolute addresses and including an information recording area wherein information entered from external devices is recorded and a Table of Contents area wherein additional address information with respect to the information recorded in the information recording area is recorded. The TOC area contains the absolute addresses of the recording positions of each information recorded in the information recording area. A display section graphically and independently displays the recorded and unrecorded ranges of the information recording area according to the absolute addresses recorded in the TOC area with respect to the recording positions of each piece of information. A warning device alerts the user that a position on the disc is occupied by referring TOC area when it is instructed to record new information in the position of the information recording area where another information has already been recorded.

摘要： A magneto-optical memory apparatus for enhancing the recording density of a magneto-optical recording medium, thereby to increase its recording capacity. The magneto-optical recording medium having recording marks, each having two ends in which information is recorded. The apparatus also includes an optical head arranged such that at the time of recording onto the magneto-optical recording medium, the recording marks are recorded such that the ends of each recording mark correspond to a second code of digital information composed of two different types of codes; at the time of reproduction, a light beam having a condensing spot is projected to the magneto-optical recording medium and, when a reproduction light containing reproduction information is entered to the optical head from the magneto-optical recording medium, a reproduction signal is supplied; and when the light beam is projected to a recording mark, an information pulse corresponding to the second code is generated in the reproduction signal, only when the reproduction light from the recording mark interferes with the reproduction light from the non-marking part; and a signal detector circuit for detecting the information pulse in the reproduction signal obtained from the optical head and for converting the reproduction signal into a digital reproduction signal.

摘要： A digital signal reproduction apparatus includes a first differential circuit for differentiating a reproduction signal reproduced from a recording medium. This differential circuit outputs a first order differential signal and second differential circuit differentiates the first order differential signal of the reproduction signal and outputs a second order differential signal. A comparator compares the second order differential signal with a predetermined level to produce a window signal. A peak detecting circuit detects zero-cross points in the first order differential signal and outputs a peak detecting signal. A gate gates the peak detecting signal with the window signal to output a reproduction data signal.

摘要： An analog signal switching device for use in an optical memory device having a recording/erasing mode and a mode other than the recording/erasing mode is disclosed. The switching device includes a source for producing a switch control signal which is HIGH during the recording/erasing mode and LOW during the mode other than the recording/erasing mode. An analog switch is provided for receiving a direct input analog signal and a held input signal and for providing as output the direct input signal during the LOW state of the switch control signal, and the held input signal during the HIGH state of the switch control signal by a switching operation. Further provided is a mask signal generator for generating a mask signal which covers a period during the HIGH state of the switch control signal so as to cover a period during the switching operation of the analog switch, and a gate circuit controlled by the mask signal for allowing the direct input analog signal to pass therethrough during the absence of the mask signal and for preventing the held input signal to pass therethrough during the presence of the mask signal. Thus, noise signals produced by the switching operation of the analog switch are eliminated.

摘要： An apparatus for reading an optical disk having tracks extending tangentially includes a driving device for moving at least one light spot. A signal which indicates a deviation of the light spot from one of the tracks and a second circuit produces acceleration and deceleration signals. The driving device is controlled to accomplish a track jump of the light spot in accordance with the acceleration and deceleration signals. The second circuit produces the acceleration signal when a track jump is to be initiated and produces the deceleration signal when the ratio of the level of the tracking error signal to the peak value of the tracking error signal becomes equal to a predetermined value.
