摘要: A light source device includes a semiconductor light-emitting device which emits coherent excitation light, and a wavelength conversion element which is spaced from the semiconductor light-emitting device, generates fluorescence by converting the wavelength of the excitation light emitted from semiconductor light-emitting device, and generates scattered light by scattering the excitation light. The wavelength conversion element includes a support member, and a wavelength converter disposed on the support member. The wavelength converter includes a first wavelength converter, and a second wavelength converter which is disposed around the first wavelength converter to surround the first wavelength converter in a top view of the surface of the support member on which the wavelength converter is disposed. The ratio of the intensity of fluorescence to that of scattered light is lower in the second wavelength converter than in the first wavelength converter.

摘要: A pulsed laser diode driver includes a source capacitor that receives a refresh current at a first terminal and develops a source voltage therefrom. A first terminal of an inductor is connected to the first terminal of the source capacitor. A second terminal of the inductor is connected to an anode of a laser diode and a bypass capacitor. One or more switches are configured to control a current flow through the inductor. A timing and control circuit is configured to receive the source voltage and to generate one or more gate driver signals to control the switches to produce a high-current pulse through the laser diode. The high-current pulse corresponds to a peak current of a resonant waveform developed at the anode of the laser diode. A timing of the one or more gate driver signals is based on a voltage level of the source voltage.

摘要: An apparatus may include an energy rate limiter, an electro-optical transmitter, and an energy monitor. The energy rate limiter limits energy transfer, based on an energy control signal, from a power supply to the energy storage module. The energy storage module is charged based on the energy transfer from the power supply. The electro-optical transmitter includes lasers coupled to local energy storage module. Laser firings of the lasers are based on an electrical potential of the energy storage module and laser enable signals corresponding to the lasers. The energy monitor is coupled to the energy storage module and triggers a safety alarm signal if a voltage provided by the energy storage module violates a safety condition related to a threshold voltage. The energy rate limiter terminates the energy transfer from the power supply to the local energy storage module after the safety condition is violated.

A laser light source device includes a laser bank having a plurality of semiconductor laser elements, a drive part for applying an electric current to the plurality of semiconductor laser elements of the laser bank, a light intensity detection part for detecting light intensity output from the laser bank, a temperature detection part for detecting a temperature of the laser bank, and a control part for determining an electric current limit value based on the detected temperature, and for controlling the electric current of the drive part based on the detected light intensity and the electric current limit value.

摘要: To provide a laser device allowing the prevention of dew formation on a cooler of the laser device, while contributing to a longer lifetime of a humidity sensor to be used. A laser device includes a laser diode and a cooler for cooling the laser diode. The laser diode and the cooler are provided in a housing. The laser device includes: a humidity detector that detects humidity in the laser device while current is applied to the humidity detector; and a current application controller that controls the time of current application to the humidity detector. In one aspect of the laser device, the laser device further includes: a temperature detector that detects a temperature in the housing; and a dew point calculator that calculates a dew point based on the humidity detected by the humidity detector, and the temperature detected by the temperature detector. The current application controller controls the time of current application to the humidity detector based on the dew point calculated by the dew point calculator.

In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a laser array having a plurality of lasers; and a laser driver coupled to the laser array, wherein the laser driver comprises a current limiter to provide a maximum current at or below a threshold current of lasers in the laser array or at a current level to meet laser safety requirements under circuit failure conditions; one or more capacitors coupled to current limiter and the laser array, the one or more capacitors to be charged in response to current from the current limiter; and a switch coupled to the one or more capacitors operable to cause current from the one or more capacitors to flow through the laser array.

摘要: The invention relates to a light module including a laser source capable of emitting a coherent light beam of given wavelength, a first sensor capable of picking up a first light signal of a wavelength lying in a first band of wavelengths centered around the given wavelength and a second sensor capable of picking up a second light signal of a wavelength lying in a second band of wavelengths centered around a wavelength distinct from the given wavelength. In particular, the light module includes a detection module capable of comparing at least one value that is a function of the signals to a threshold value and of commanding the stopping of the laser source as a function of the comparison.
