    摘要: A reversible shape memory (R.S.M.) article of Ti-Ni alloy containing excess Ni over the stoichiometric composition, such as containing 50.3-53.0 at. % Ni which has a dual phase structure of a TiNi compound phase and a precipitated Ni rich compounds phase and the improved R.S.M. property wherein the different two shapes are recovered by thermal cycles between two temperatures sufficient higher and lower than the martensitic transformation temperature (Ms). The alloy prepared by the melting method is heat-treated at 600.degree. C. or more to be made into a single phase of TiNi compound after being worked into a strip plate, and the plate is fixedly wound on a pipe and aged at 300.degree. C.-600.degree. C. for one or more hours, whereby the article having the R.S.M. property with a large amount of shape change by thermal cycles can be obtained.

    摘要: In a data base processing method including a central processing unit for analyzing a plurality of queries made from a plurality of users so as to determine an internal processing procedure with respect to a data base, and for performing the internal processing procedure; a secondary storage for storing data capable of being shared by each user; and, an input/output controlling processing unit including at least one cache storage, for controlling a transfer of a plurality of records which are required for input/output processing operations between the central processing unit and secondary storage. The data base processing method is featured in that a decision is made whether or not a prefetching operation is carried out at a start of an input/output processing operation by judging the internal processing procedure which has been formed by the query; a retrieval range into which a record to be fetched has been stored is formed when the prefetching operation is performed; and, a prefetching record number is determined as an input/output processing demand unit, taking account of an access characteristic of the internal processing procedure and also a system characteristic containing a size of the cache storage, a performance, of the central processing unit, and a traffic of the input/output processing unit.

    摘要: A temperature and humidity compensating device is provided in electrophotographic apparatus including a photosensitive medium having a photoconductive layer, an image forming unit for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive medium, a heat source disposed near the photosensitive medium for heating the latter, a temperature detector disposed remotely from the heat source for detecting the temperature of the photosensitive medium, and control means for controlling the heating of the heat source so that the temperature of the photosensitive medium detected by the detector is not lower than the ambient temperature. Thus, the photosensitive medium may be prevented from deterioration due to falling temperature and moisture absorption, thereby permitting a normal image formation to be achieved.

    摘要: An image reading apparatus such as a color copying apparatus has a plurality of sensing CCD chips for converting an image of an object into an electrical signal, each sensing CCD chip having a plurality of sensing elements. The apparatus also has a circuit for converting the electrical signal into digital data. A first adjusting circuit is provided for conducting either an operation for obtaining level matching of the electrical signal converted by the sensing chips, or an operation for controlling the gain of the electrical signal converted by the sensing chips. The apparatus further has a second adjusting circuit for effecting compensation for fluctuation of characteristics of the sensing elements of the sensing chips, by making use of the digital data converted by the converting circuit, the second adjusting circuit being adapted for effecting the compensation on the basis of electrical signals which are produced as a result of conversion by the sensing chips from two objects having different levels of density from each other, such as white and black levels. An analog-to-digital converter may also be provided to convert analog data into digital data. In that case, first adjusting means will adjust the analog data discretely, through a step smaller than the quantizing step used in the A/D conversion, and a second adjusting means may preferably further adjust the analog data in accordance with digital data obtained through the A/D conversion.
