    摘要: The present invention relates to a spill resistant keyboard including at least one conduit to permit a spilled liquid to drain through the keyboard without damaging the keyboard's electronics. The conduit is positioned along a sloped surface located along a front edge of a recessed area of the keyboard to promote the drainage of the spilled liquid through the conduit. The keyboard also includes water protection walls positioned around certain elongated keys prevent the spilled liquid from entering the body of the keyboard.

    摘要: A keyboard apparatus. The apparatus has a housing including a plurality of key pads, including at least twenty six key pads spatially disposed within the housing. Each of the key pads is depressible upon touch by a user. An optically transparent circuit board is coupled to a backside of each of the key pads. The apparatus has a light guide characterized by a planar optically transparent material having a surface region, a width, a length, and a backside region, and a thickness provided between the surface region and the backside region. The apparatus has a plurality of patterns disposed on the surface region and optically coupled respectively to each of the twenty six key members. In a specific embodiment, the apparatus has a light emitting diode provided within a center region of the surface region to emit electromagnetic radiation. The electromagnetic radiation propagates from the light emitting diode through a portion of the thickness of the light guide to one or more of the plurality of patterns to direct one or more portions of the electromagnetic radiation to respective key pads for lighting the respective key pads.

Each of the plurality of electroluminescent segments provides electromagnetic radiation to a respective non-overlapping keyboard region for lighting key pads in the respective non-overlapping keyboard region. Each of the non-overlapping regions includes fewer than all of the plurality of keypads.

    摘要: An apparatus for a hinged key switch is presented which operates around a hinged pivot point located external to the four points of the key cap, and which comprises a rubber spring providing a vertical bias and an arm with an extension which acts as a stopper when it abuts a raised portion of the mounting plate. The rubber spring is integrally formed from a rubber sheet which is supported on one side by the mounting plate and on the other by the back plate. The stopper extends vertically downward from the key cap and acts to limit the movement of the key in the vertical direction. A horizontal extension from a lower portion of the key cap further extends downward and through a slot in the mounting plate and has a hook which abuts an underside of the mounting plate, such extension from the key cap acting as the pivot point around which the key rotates.

    摘要: An electroluminescent apparatus includes a protection layer characterized by two or more non-overlapping regions and a back electrode layer which includes two or more back electrode regions. Each of the back electrode regions overlies a corresponding one of the non-overlapping regions in the protection layer. A bottom insulation layer includes two or more bottom insulation regions, each of which overlying a corresponding one of the back electrode regions. The apparatus includes two or more electroluminescent segments, each of which overlying a corresponding one of the back electrode layers. A transparent electrode layer includes two or more transparent electrode regions, each overlying a corresponding one of electroluminescent segments.     摘要: A wake-up system for an input device having a circuit board inside it has a motion sensor mounted on the printed circuit board inside the input device. The motion sensor has a motion signal output and the wake-up system further include a detection circuit connected to the motion signal output. The detection circuit has a wake-up signal output. The input device can be an optical wireless mouse. The motion sensor may be a mechanical motion sensor such as a tilt sensor having a ball contact and stationary contacts. The stationary contacts may be printed directly on the printed circuit board. The ball contact and stationary contacts form an electrical switch and are gold-plated. The ball contact is conductive. The motion sensor may be sealed to avoid corrosion. The detection circuit detects a change of state of whether the electrical switch formed by the ball contact and stationary contact is opened or closed. A first embodiment can amplify the motion signal from the motion sensor and a second embodiment can detect a low signal from the motion sensor. Also disclosed is a method of waking up an input device such as a mouse and an input device comprising the wake-up system.
