摘要: A peripheral input device, such as a mouse and/or a keyboard, includes a thermal sensor that detects end user presence, such as with a passive infrared sensor. The peripheral input device enters a low power mode having a radio of a wireless network interface controller monitoring a user presence indication communicated from a host information handling system, such as when a user presence sensor in a dongle coupled to the information handling system detects a user and communicates the user presence indication by a wireless signal. In response, the peripheral input device monitors for the user with the thermal sensor so that the radio and other components can be powered down until a user is detected, at which time the thermal sensor is powered down and the position sensor becomes active.

摘要: An EM pose tracking system controls a power mode by adjusting a transmit power of the EM transmitter based on a metric correlated with jitter in the EM readings. Such a metric includes metrics such as estimated noise computed from received EM data, a computed distance between the transmitter and the receiver, a measured signal power between the transmitter and the receiver, and the like. By adjusting the transmit power based on the jitter metric, the EM tracking system can reduce overall power consumption at a device that employs the EM tracking system, thus allowing the system to be used in a wider variety of devices and improving the user experience with those devices.

摘要: A power saving circuit includes a variable resistor, a switch and a processing module. A power supply unit is connected between the switch and the variable resistor. The processing module is connected between the switch and the variable resistor. The switch connects with the variable resistor. The switch is capable of conducting the power supply unit and the processing module when the variable resistor is be pressed. The processing module is capable of transmitting a working signal to the switch for making the switch continuing conducting the power supply unit and the processing module when the variable resistor is unpressurized after the power is transmitted to the processing module. The processing module is capable of detecting the condition of the voltage of the variable resistor to change the working signal. The switch is capable of breaking the power supply of the processing module if the working signal is off state.

摘要: The present application provides a tactile feedback method, comprising: determining, on a virtual reality (VR) interactive controller, a region where contact between a user and the VR interactive controller occurs; and generating, according to relevant information of an object simulated by the VR interactive controller, at least a first contact feedback in the region where the contact occurs. The present application also provides a tactile feedback apparatus and a VR interactive system. The technical solutions provided by embodiments of the present application are used to cause that it is unnecessary to provide a tactile feedback to a user on the entire VR interactive controller, thereby greatly reducing energy consumption needed for generating a tactile feedback.

摘要: Systems and methods according to the present invention address these needs and others by providing a handheld device, e.g., a 3D pointing device, which uses at least one sensor to detect motion of the handheld device. The detected motion can then be mapped into a desired output, e.g., cursor movement.

摘要: An electronic apparatus and a control method are provided that are capable of reducing power consumption. The electronic apparatus having a normal mode in which first electric power is consumed and a power-saving mode in which second electric power lower than the first electric power is consumed includes a first sensor and a second sensor whose power consumption is lower than that of the first sensor. In the power-saving mode, supply of power to the first sensor is restricted, the second sensor is set to the power-saving mode, a trigger for restoring the power-saving mode to the normal mode is detected by using the second sensor set to the power-saving mode, and the power-saving mode is restored to the normal mode based on the detected trigger.

摘要: A method includes placing an input device in a passive mode of operation and periodically monitoring a displacement sensor of the input device, receiving an indication of displacement from the displacement sensor, and placing the input device in an active mode of operation characterized by a power consumption level. The method also includes determining a passing of a predetermined time period since receiving the indication of displacement, placing the input device in a second active mode of operation characterized by a second power consumption level less than the power consumption level, and periodically monitoring one or more of a plurality of touch sensors. The method further includes receiving an indication of input from the one or more of the plurality of touch sensors and placing the input device in the active mode of operation.
