摘要: A computer-implemented method for maintaining state in a stateless environment includes saving on a computing device an image of one or more document object models for one or more web pages. The image includes information that has changed in response to user interaction with the one or more pages after the one or more web pages have been loaded by the computing device. The method additionally includes shutting down the web pages on the computing device, receiving a request to redisplay the web pages on the computing device, accessing the image, and using data in the image to reconstruct the one or more web pages, including with the information that had changed in response to user interaction with the one or more pages.

摘要: A computer-implemented computer shut-down method includes identifying that a computing device has been moved from an open configuration in which input and output mechanisms on the computing device are accessible to a user, to a closed configuration in which at least some of the input and output mechanisms are inaccessible to a user; starting a shut-down timer in response to identifying that the computing device has been moved from the open configuration to the closed configuration; waiting a predefined time period, as established by the shut-down timer, and determining from the shut-down timer that the computing device can be transitioned from an active state into a sleep state in which power consuming components of the computing device are powered down; and transitioning the computing device from the active state to the sleep state upon determining that the computing device can be transitioned.

The method further includes providing the partial query term to multiple data provider modules. The method further includes rendering a representation of each search suggestion item, and receiving a user selection identifying one of the search suggestion items from the user interface. The method further includes providing the portion of the query to multiple data provider modules nearly simultaneously. The method further includes receiving, from ones of the data provider modules, a set of search suggestion items resulting from searching the data sources, each of the search suggestion items including a rank and a relevance value. The method further includes determining a score for each of the search suggestion items by combining the rank and the relevance value for each of the search suggestion items. The method further includes sorting the search suggestion items using the scores. The method further includes presenting the sorted search suggestion items to the user.
