摘要: An improved process for desulfurizing combustion exhaust gases of mainly coal containing sulfur oxides, HF and dust containing Al is provided, which process consists of four steps; a first step of contacting the gases with calcium carbonate or hydroxide in the form of slurry to convert the sulfur oxides into CaSO.sub.3 ; a second step of contacting O.sub.2 with the resulting slurry to convert CaSO.sub.3 into CaSO.sub.4 ; a third step of separating CaSO.sub.4 and mother liquor from the resulting slurry; and a fourth step of preparing a slurry of calcium carbonate or hydroxide to be employed in the first step, from the mother liquor, the pHs of the slurry and the mother liquor in the first and fourth steps being adjusted to 5 or higher by adding alkali such as sodium carbonate.According to the present process, it is possible to prevent hindrance of HF and Al contained in dust to the reaction of SO.sub.2 -absorbent (CaCO.sub.3 or Ca[OH].sub.2) with SO.sub.2 gas, and thereby improve percentage desulfurization and also obtain a high quality gypsum.

摘要: A safety device detects when a worker's hand enters a hazardous region between rollers of a kneading machine, and stops rotation of the rolls to prevent an accident. Each time the rollers are stopped, the orientation of photoelectric sensors is switched from the vicinity of the gap between the two rollers to a test reflection member, and the quantity of received light is compared to a predetermined value, to prevent workers form starting work without knowing a fault or accident has happened. More specifically, a bar electrode of an electrostatic capacitance sensor is disposed above and near the gap between the two rollers, for detecting a physical quantity that is changed by entry of a worker's hand. When the electrostatic capacitance detected by the sensor exceeds a predetermined value, a judging circuit supplies a control signal to stop a driving unit that operates the kneading machine. Heat ray sensors or photoelectric sensors may be used as alternatives to electrostatic sensors. As an additional feature, case housing light projectors and photoelectric sensors are rotatably disposed above and near the gap between the two rollers, and a test reflector is disposed on the side of the case. When the rollers are stopped, a light receiving object switching circuit rotates the case and a test circuit tests the light receiving states of the photoelectric sensors.

摘要: CO is recovered from a CO-containing gas by contacting a CO-containing gas with a non-aqueous CO-absorbing solution comprising 3 to 6 moles/l of hexametaphosphateamine, 1 to 4 moles/l of cuprous chloride, 0.1 to 1% by weight of water and an organic solvent, thereby absorbing CO into the CO-absorbing solution from the CO-containing gas, and then atomizing the CO-absorbed solution, thereby stripping CO from the CO-absorbed solution and obtaining a CO gas, while recycling the CO-freed absorbing solution to the absorption of CO from the CO-containing gas with remarkable reduction in the corrosion rate on apparatus materials without impairing the CO absorption, and use of a two-fluid, simultaneous atomizing means for atomizing the CO-absorbed solution together with the vapor of the organic solvent can improve the CO stripping rate, and reduce the CO recovery cost.
