Abstract: A stable bonding processing for metal, of which at least a part is plated, is provided. A plated metal bonding apparatus performs bonding of a first metal and a second metal. At least one from among the first metal and the second metal has a plated bonding portion where the bonding processing is to be performed. A bonding processing unit performs bonding of the first metal and the second metal using sound vibration and/or ultrasound vibration. The bonding processing unit performs the bonding processing using a plated material or otherwise using a metal portion in a state in which a plating material has been removed.

Abstract: A mechanical vibration machining method or the like is suitable for allowing a probe to provide vibration to a horn with high efficiency. A horn portion is supported by a first support portion and a second support portion configured as a double-support structure. A first probe unit and a second probe unit are coupled to both ends of the horn portion. The first probe unit and the second probe unit vibrate the horn portion by means of vibration generated by a first generation unit and a second generation unit. The horn portion provides nodal points at which elongation and contraction alternately occur. For example, in a case in which the contact portion is arranged at the center of the horn portion, the second generation unit is oscillated with a phase that is the opposite of that of the first generation unit.

Abstract: A distal end portion for pressing an object to be joined of one of a resonator and a reception jig is constituted as a protrusion having an outer face not including an angular sharp edge, such as a hog-backed shape or a semispherical shape, and during joining, while metal foils stacked are being laterally thinly stretched with lateral vibration from the resonator and atoms of the metal foils are being moved laterally without the protrusions forcibly holding down the metal foils, a metal amount corresponding to a volume stretched is smoothly discharged along a curved face without breaking the metal foils, and even when the stacked metal foils are used as the object to be joined, breaking of the metal foils is not generated during joining, so that a step of protecting the metal foils with a protection member is unnecessary.

Abstract: A rivet joining method, etc., suitable for providing rivet joining using sound vibration and/or ultrasound vibration is provided. Joining is provided in a state in which a rivet is inserted into a hole formed in a base member. The base member includes a first member and a second member. The hole is formed such that it passes through at least one of the members. The rivet is formed of a metal material and has a head portion and a body portion. A vibration processing part applies sound vibration and/or ultrasound vibration to the rivet in a state in which at least its body portion is inserted into the hole, so as to join the rivet and the inner face of the hole.

Abstract: A distal end portion on a side of an object to be joined of a resonator for joining is so configured that a plurality of protrusions each having an outer face not including an angular shape edge are stacked in two or more steps in a direction in which the resonator for joining and a reception jig for joining oppose to each other and that a shape of a protrusion on the side of the object to be joined is made smaller than a shape of a protrusion on a side of the resonator for joining. With this configuration, it is possible in the process of joining the object to be joined to first concentrate energy of acoustic vibration or ultrasonic vibration on a protrusion having a smaller shape serving as a first step protrusion to trigger to start displacement, then smoothly join, by a protrusion having a larger shape serving as a second step protrusion, a part of the object to be joined existing around the protrusion having the smaller shape, whereby metal foils can be joined without using a protection member for protection of the metal foils. A distal end portion having a plurality of protrusions stacked in two or more steps may be provided in the reception jig.

Abstract: In a vertical vibration joining apparatus where a resonator having a vibrator on one end side is horizontally attached to a supporting tool capable of ascending and descending, the resonator includes a cross phone of a cross shape in a front view and two boosters, the cross phone is for converting acoustic vibration transmitted from the vibrator from vibration in a lateral direction to vibration in a vertical direction orthogonal to the lateral direction, two boosters are provided at both ends of a pair of projection portions of the cross phone in the lateral direction, and portions to be supported to the supporting tool are coaxially and integrally provided on two boosters by bending outer peripheral faces of the boosters at minimum vibration amplitude points of vibration in the lateral direction resonating with the acoustic vibration transmitted from the vibrator outside in a diametrical direction to project the same annularly.

Abstract: A bonding target member 1 having a solid bonding material 3 with aluminum as a main component is interposed between a metal member 2 and a ceramic member 4 and an elastic member 12 are pressurized by a pressurizing section 13 and a bonding tool section 15 of a resonator 14 in a vertical direction. The bonding tool section 15 of the resonator 14 resonates with sound vibration or ultrasound vibration transmitted from an oscillator 16. An interfacial portion between the metal member 2 and the bonding material 3 with aluminum as a main component and an interfacial portion between the bonding material 3 with aluminum as a main component and the ceramic member 4 each receive pressurization and vibration energy to be bonded together. The metal member 2 and the ceramic member 4 can be bonded together at ordinary temperature in the atmosphere with the bonding material 3 with aluminum as a main component. When the ceramic member 4 has a thickness resistant to pressurization and vibration energy at the time of bonding to resist crack, the elastic member 12 may be disposed on a metal member 2 side, or may not be used.

Abstract: A mechanical vibration machining apparatus or the like is suitable for forming a stable machined surface. A mechanical vibration machining apparatus performs machining of a machining target using a horn. A control unit instructs the horn to perform a mechanical vibration operation and a rotational driving operation. The control unit controls the mechanical vibration and/or the rotational driving in a periodic manner. For example, the control unit supports intermittent alternating control. That is to say, when one from among the mechanical vibration and the rotational driving is provided, the other is suspended. Such periodic control allows the stress that occurs due to the applied force to be dispersed, thereby allowing a stable machined surface to be formed.

Abstract: A bonding target member typically has a solid bonding material with aluminum as a main component interposed between a metal member and a ceramic member. These elements and an elastic member are pressurized by a pressurizing section and a bonding tool section of a resonator in a vertical direction. The bonding tool section of the resonator resonates with sound vibration or ultrasound vibration transmitted from an oscillator. The metal member and the ceramic member can alternatively be bonded together without the intermediate bonding material. In both cases, bonding at ordinary temperature in the atmosphere is possible. When the ceramic member has a thickness resistant to pressurization and vibration energy at the time of bonding to resist cracking, the elastic member may be disposed on the metal member side, or may not be used.
