    摘要： The machine embodying the mechanism is of low silhouette frame construction so that it reduces the weight of the machine and the space required for its use. The means for operating the needle carrier is an oscillating arm which serves to shift the needle carrier back and forth along a straight line. One end of said arm is positioned in a slideway in said needle carrier so as to be free for both rotational and translational movement relative thereto. Provision has been made for adequate lubrication of the relatively sliding surfaces, to minimize the development of high temperatures in the course of high speed sewing operations.
