    摘要: The invention provides a solution based process based on high molecular weight block copolymer (BCP) nanolithography for fabrication of periodic structures on large areas of optical surfaces. In one embodiment there is provided method of fabricating a nano-patterned surface for application in a photonic, optical or other related device, said method comprising the steps of: providing a substrate material; depositing a block copolymer (BCP) material on the substrate material; and phase separating the BCPs using at least one solvent selected to facilitate polymer chain mobilisation and lead to phase separation to fabricate said nano-patterned surface; wherein the nano-patterned surface comprises an ordered array of structures and having a domain or diameter of 100 nm or greater. A new photonic device and optical device is also described.

    摘要: A method for providing a nanopattern of periodically ordered metal oxide nanostructures on a substrate is described. The method comprises the steps of providing a microphase separated block copolymer as a thin film on a substrate, the block copolymer comprising a first polymer having an affinity for a cations of the metal and a second polymer having a lower affinity for the cations than the first polymer, and selectively incorporating a salt of the metal cation into the first polymer of the block copolymer by means of a solvation process prior to or after formation of the microphase separated block copolymer. The block copolymer film is then treated to oxidise the metal ion salt and remove the polymers leaving a nanopattern of metal oxide nanostructures on the substrate.

    摘要: A method for synthesizing mesoporous silica microparticles comprising the steps of: preparing a sol from an ammonium catalyzed hydrolysis and condensation reaction of a pre-sol solution comprising a silica precursor and a structure directing agent dissolved in a mixed solvent system comprising an alcohol and water to produce mesoporous particles of silica with an average diameter of up to about 50 μm; hydrothermally treating the particles to increase the pore size; treating the particles to remove residual structure directing agent; and further increasing the pore size using controlled dissolution.
