    摘要: A waste heat recovery system includes a high pressure turbine and a low pressure turbine, in which the high pressure turbine receives high pressure working fluid vapor, the low pressure turbine receives low pressure working fluid vapor and the high pressure turbine also supplies low pressure working fluid vapor to the low pressure turbine. A recuperator receives working fluid vapor from the low pressure turbine. The recuperator produces heated condensate, at least a portion of which is provided to a high pressure vaporizer. The high pressure vaporizer is configured to receive from a high temperature heat source and produces high pressure working vapor used to power the high pressure turbine. The remaining condensed fluid is provided to a low pressure vaporizer which is configured to receive heat from a low-temperature heat source, thereby producing low pressure working fluid vapor used to power the low pressure turbine.

    摘要: A method for utilizing acidic geothermal fluid (e.g., fluid having a pH of less than about 3.5) containing non-condensable gases in a geothermal power plant includes separating the geothermal fluid into steam and brine, applying the steam to a device from which power and steam condensate is produced. Such device can be a back-pressure steam turbine whose exhaust can be cooled by organic fluid to produce organic vapor that is expanded in an organic vapor turbine. Alternatively, the steam can be applied to the steam-side of an indirect contact heat exchanger containing a liquid organic working fluid for producing steam condensate and vaporized working fluid. In such case, the steam condensate produced by the heat exchanger is less acidic than the brine. The vaporized working fluid is expanded in an organic vapor turbine for producing electricity and expanded working fluid, and the expanded working fluid is condensed for producing condensed organic fluid which is preheated and supplied to the heat exchanger. Preheating of the condensed organic fluid is achieved using heat contained in both the steam condensate and brine which are cooled thereby. The dilution of the brine by the steam condensate causes the concentration of acids, e.g., hydrochloric acid, and salts in the brine, to return to less than their original values in the geothermal brine.

The organic fluid module includes a vaporizer containing an organic fluid and receiving low pressure steam slightly above atmospheric pressure from the steam module for producing vaporized organic fluid, steam condensate, and a mixture of steam and non-condensable gases, an organic vapor turbine coupled to a generator for expanding the vaporized organic fluid and producing electrical power and expanded organic fluid, a condenser for condensing the expanded organic fluid to liquid organic fluid, preheater apparatus for preheating the liquid organic fluid using heat contained in the steam condensate and producing cooled steam condensate, and a pump for supplying preheated organic fluid to the vaporizer.

    摘要: Apparatus for utilizing geothermal fluid comprising a two-phase mixture of geothermal steam and brine produced by a production well, includes an input conduit connecting the production well with the separator which separates the geothermal fluid into high pressure geothermal steam and geothermal brine. A connecting conduit connects the separator to a geothermal power plant which produces power from the high pressure geothermal steam. The input conduit is shorter than said connecting conduit to reduce pressure losses due to two-phase flow in the input conduit. The geothermal power plant includes a topping steam turbine coupled to a generator, and a flow control mechanism for applying the high pressure geothermal steam to the topping steam turbine which is constructed and arranged to drive the generator and produce exhaust steam at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure. A secondary separator receives the exhaust steam and produces condensate and dry low pressure steam which is applied to a condensing steam turbine coupled to a generator for producing power and exhaust steam that is below atmospheric pressure. The flow control system is effective to maintain a substantially constant flow rate of geothermal steam through he power plant in the face of decreasing pressure of the geothermal fluid.
