Abstract: A wind turbine comprising, a tower, a nacelle mounted on the tower, and a rotor defining a rotor axis extending in a vertical center plane and configured for harvesting wind energy by rotation of blades in a rotor rotation direction about the rotor axis. Abstract: A method 400 of predicting tonal noise produced by a wind turbine is disclosed. The method comprises acquiring 410 a first set of vibration data, the first set of vibration data being from a plurality of vibration sensors positioned at different locations about a wind turbine drivetrain when the wind turbine drivetrain is undergoing testing in a test rig; acquiring 420 a second set of vibration data, the second set of vibration data being from a plurality of vibration sensors positioned at different locations about the same or a similar wind turbine drivetrain when located in a wind turbine; acquiring 430 noise data including tonal noise produced by the wind turbine; identifying 440 a vibration sensor of interest using vibration data of the second set of vibration data and the noise data; determining 450, for the identified sensor, a first relationship between vibration data of the first set of vibration data and the second set of vibration data; and determining 460, for the identified vibration sensors, a second relationship between the first set of vibration data and tonal noise produced by a wind turbine based on the first relationship.

Abstract: An adaptive wind turbine generator (WTG) control system comprising a measurement system MS with sensors A1, A2, MC arranged to perform measurements of mechanical vibrations of one or more mechanical components of the WTG, at a plurality of operating conditions for the WTG. A storage unit SU stores, in a measurement database MD, measured data and corresponding operating condition OC data for the WTG. An operating condition manager OCM determines how to operate the WTG, including rotor speed PSC, according to a control algorithm in response to the data stored in the measurement database MD. Hereby, individual vibration measurements on critical components such as electric power generator and blades of the WTG can be taken into account in determining which rotor speed windows to avoid. This allow a more power efficient WTG, since a large safety margin around calculated or predetermined tabulated rotor speed windows can be avoided. Further, with a continuous update of the measurements, the control system can take into account variations in the vibration behavior of the components over time.

Abstract: A wind turbine (101) comprising a torque transmitting coupling (1) between a first rotatable part (2, 3) and a second rotatable part (2, 3) of the wind turbine (101), e.g. in the form of a hub (2) and a shaft (3), is disclosed. The torque transmitting coupling (1) comprises a form- fitted coupling and a compression means (5, 8, 9, 12, 13). The form-fitted coupling defines a plurality of drive flanks formed on the first rotatable part (2, 3) and a plurality of driven flanks formed on the second rotatable part (2, 3). The compression means (5, 8, 9, 12, 13) is arranged on an internal or external perimeter of the form-fitted coupling, and the compression means (5, 8, 9, 12, 13) provides a frictional coupling between the first rotatable part (2, 3) and the second rotatable part (2, 3). The torque transmitting coupling (1) is capable of locking up to six degrees of freedom between the first rotatable part (2, 3) and the second rotatable part (2, 3), while allowing the first rotatable part (2, 3) and the second rotatable part (2, 3) to be easily dissembled.
