Abstract: A wind turbine system comprising a plurality of wind turbine modules mounted to a support structure, wherein each of the wind turbine modules comprises a rotor including one or more variable-pitch blades, each defining a respective blade pitch angle and being controlled by a pitch control system, and a control system operable to control the blade pitch angles of the plurality of blades of the wind turbine modules. The control system is configured to identify the presence of a predetermined stop condition and, in dependence thereon, is operable to control the blade pitch angles of the respective blades to predetermined stop positions that reduce oscillation of the support structure. Aspects of the invention also relate to a method of controlling a wind turbine system, to a controller for implementing the method, and to a computer program product.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for controlling a yaw system of a wind turbine. The yaw system includes mechanical brakes that provide a first amount of braking torque when closed. The yaw system is configured to transition from a yawing state to a parked by brake state by closing mechanical brakes in a first subset of the mechanical brakes and opening each mechanical brake in a second subset of the mechanical brakes. The second subset provides a second amount of braking torque that is less than the first amount of braking torque. In response to detecting a rotation of the nacelle while in the parked by brake state, the yaw system is configured to transition from the parked by brake state to a parked by motor state in which yaw drives are activated to provide a counter acting torque in opposition to the detected rotation of the nacelle.

Abstract: A method is provided for controlling the shutdown of a wind turbine of the type having a rotor, the rotor comprising one or more wind turbine blades. The method comprises dynamically determining a rotor speed reference; obtaining a measure of the rotor speed of the rotor; determining an error between the rotor speed reference and the rotor speed of the rotor; and controlling a pitch of one or more of the wind turbine blades based on the determined error. A corresponding wind turbine controller and a wind turbine including such a controller are also provided.

Abstract: A method of yawing a nacelle in a wind turbine having a yawing assembly comprising a drive-ring and a plurality of drives configured to exert a torque during movement along the drive-ring and thereby move the nacelle relative to the tower. Abstract: A method for controlling a multirotor wind turbine is disclosed. A first operational state of each of the energy generating units of the wind turbine is obtained. A difference in thrust acting on at least two of the energy generating units is detected. At least one constraint parameter of the set of operational constraints is adjusted in accordance with prevailing operating conditions and in accordance with the detected difference in thrust, and a new operational state for at least one of the energy generating units is derived, based on the at least one adjusted constraint parameter, the new operational state(s) counteracting the detected difference in thrust. Finally, the wind turbine is controlled in accordance with the new operational states for the energy generating units.
