Abstract: A network device identifies Internet of Things (IoT) devices in a wireless network in a service area; determines a reporting configuration for each of the IoT devices associated with an initiation of reporting instances via the wireless; identifies, based on the reporting configurations, a potential signal loading reduction over the wireless network and/or a potential power consumption reduction related to the reporting configuration associated with at least one of the IoT devices; and modifies the reporting configuration of the at least one IoT device to enable the potential signal loading reduction and/or the potential power consumption reduction.

Abstract: Techniques described herein may be used to implement a 4G antenna in a wearable device (e.g., a watch) in a manner that optimizes the ability of the antenna to send and receive radio signals while minimizing the user's exposure to radio signals. The antenna may be raised above a base portion and a printed circuit board (PCB) of the wearable device to limit radio signals being absorbed by the user's body, in addition to providing a vertical space between conductive components (such as the PCB), metal nodes to which the PCB is attached, etc.) that might otherwise interfere with radio signals to and from the antenna. The antenna may also be split into two different portions (a first portion and a second portion) in order to limit radio signals from resonating in the antenna for longer than is beneficial.

Abstract: A network device identifies Internet of Things (IoT) devices present on a Long Term Evolution, category M1 (LTE Cat-M1) network in a service area with connectivity to a wireless station; determines a reporting configuration currently associated with each of the IoT devices, wherein each of the reporting configurations are based on a reporting requirement for an initiation of reporting instances via the LTE Cat-M1 network; performs an analysis of the reporting configurations to identify a potential signal loading reduction over the LTE Cat-M1 network and/or a potential power consumption reduction related to the reporting configuration associated with at least one of the IoT devices; modifies, based on the analysis, the reporting configuration of the at least one IoT device to enable the potential signal loading reduction and/or the potential power consumption reduction; and transmits, to the at least one IoT device, a message identifying the modified reporting configuration.

Abstract: A user device installs a third-party companion application with a primary software development kit (SDK) for cellular service activation on a wearable device, the wearable device including a third-party device application having an embedded SDK for the cellular service activation. The user device receives user input to initiate the cellular service activation for the wearable device and solicits, via the primary SDK, user input for account settings associated with the cellular service activation. The user device obtains, via the primary SDK and from a network device, activation parameters, associated with the wearable device, for the cellular service activation. The user device forwards, via the primary SDK and to the embedded SDK of the wearable device, the activation parameters, which the embedded SDK uses to request cellular activation.

Abstract: A wearable device receives user configuration data that provides user-specific information for stored use cases and generates a personalized use case database based on the stored use cases and the user-specific information. The wearable device obtains location, sensor, time, and peripheral state data and detects a meaningful change in a most recent data instance of the location, sensor, time, or peripheral state data over an earlier data instance of the location, sensor, time, and peripheral state data. The wearable device determines if the most recent data instance corresponds to a particular use case in the personalized use case database; presents on a display a new home-screen experience, including multiple application user interfaces for the particular use case, when the most recent data instance corresponds to the particular use case; and changes a hardware state to enable use of the multiple application user interfaces in the new home-screen experience.
