The visual information can be adapted to user behavior and/or viewing conditions in such a way as to deliver a satisfactory user experience while conserving network resources, such as bandwidth and/or capacity. Viewing distance and/or ambient light, which may affect viewing conditions in a viewing environment, may be estimated. Bandwidth may be reduced by eliminating details that may not be perceived by the user in the estimated viewing conditions (e.g., by determining a spatial resolution (e.g. a maximum spatial resolution) perceptible under the viewing conditions and not exceeding that spatial resolution).

摘要: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for inverse shaping for high dynamic range (HDR) video coding. A video coding device, e.g., such as a decoder, may determine a plurality of pivot points associated with a plurality of piecewise segments of an inverse reshaping model. The plurality of pivot points may be determined based on an indication received via a message. Each piecewise segment may be defined by a plurality of coefficients. The video coding device may receive an indication of a first subset of coefficients associated with the plurality of piecewise segments. The video coding device may calculate a second subset of coefficients based on the first subset of coefficients and the plurality of pivot points. The video coding device may generate an inverse reshaping model using one or more of the plurality of pivot points, the first subset of coefficients, and the second subset of coefficients.

摘要: A high dynamic range (HDR) signal processing device may receive a video signal and an operating mode indication. The operating mode indication may indicate a format of the video signal, for example, an HDR format or a non-DR format. Whether to perform adaptive reshaping on the video signal may be determined based on the operating mode indication. For example, it may be determined to perform the adaptive reshaping if the operating mode indicates that the video signal is in an HDR format. It may be determined to bypass the adaptive reshaping if the operating mode indicates that the video signal is in the non-HDR format. Multiple types of HDR reconstruction metadata may be received via a network abstraction layer (NAL) unit.

A second chroma QP may be determined based on a temporal level of the second-temporal level picture. The first-temporal level picture may be encoded based on the first chroma QP to the first-temporal level picture and/or the second-temporal level picture may be encoded based on the second chroma QP to the second-temporal level picture. The first chroma QP may be different than the second chroma QP.

摘要: Color correction in high dynamic range video (HDR) using 2D look-up table (LUT) may be provided. The color correction may be applied in a decoder after decoding the HDR video signal. For example, the color correction may be applied before, during, or after chroma upsampling of the HDR video signal. The 2D LUT may include a representation of the color space of the HDR video signal. The color correction may include applying triangle interpolation to the sample values of the color component of the color space. The 2D LUT may be estimated by an encoder and signaled to the decoder. The encoder may decide to reuse a prior-signaled 2D LUT or use a new 2D LUT.

摘要: A device may control a video communication via transcoding and/or traffic shaping. The device may include a multipoint control unit (MCU) and/or a server. The device may receive one or more video streams from one or more devices. The device may analyze a received video stream to determine a viewing parameter. The viewing parameter may include a user viewing parameter, a device viewing parameter, and/or a content viewing parameter. The device may modify a video stream based on the viewing parameter. Modifying the video stream may include re-encoding the video stream, adjusting an orientation, removing a video detail, and/or adjusting a bit rate. The device may send the modified video stream to another device. The device may determine a hit rate for the video stream based on the viewing parameter. The device may indicate the bit rate by sending a feedback message and/or by signaling a bandwidth limit.

摘要: A perceptual filter may be implemented to filter one or more spatial frequencies from a video signal that are below a contrast sensitivity limit of a viewer of the video signal. The perceptual filter may be configured to adapt one or more perceptual filter parameters on a pixel-basis based on, for example, content, viewing distance, display density, contrast ratio, display luminance, background luminance, and/or age of the viewer. A spatial cutoff frequency of the perceptual filter may be mapped to a contrast sensitivity. The perceptual filter may be used as a preprocessing step for a video encoder so as to lower an encoded bitrate. Temporal filtering of the video frames may be used to maintain continuity of a spatial cutoff frequency to ensure the perceptual filtering effects are not identified as motion by a video encoder, and the temporal filtering may be restricted to static areas of a frame.
