Abstract: An LNG tank as disclosed can include an inner shell of stainless steel and an outer shell spaced at a distance from the inner shell, the inner and outer shells defining an isolation space therebetween. A double-walled pipe of stainless steel connected to the LNG tank can include an inner pipe. The outer wall of the pipe can be connected to the inner shell by a bellows-like pipe fitting welded to the outer wall of the pipe(s) and to the inner shell of the tank. The inner pipe for extending into a tank room can be connected to a valve in a valve block, and the outer wall of the pipe extending into the tank room can be welded to the valve block to provide a continuous secondary barrier for the inner pipe between the inner shell of the tank and the valve block.

Abstract: An LNG tank is a single-shell LNG tank having one shell and at least one pipe extending from the LNG tank to a tank connection space of the LNG tank. The shell of the LNG tank is substantially surrounded by insulation. The LNG tank has at least one bellow connection surrounding at least part of the length of the at least one pipe for connecting the at least one pipe extending from the LNG tank to the tank connection space. A system for connecting at least one pipe between an LNG tank and a tank connection space thereof is also provided. At least one pipe extends from the LNG tank to the tank connection space and which LNG tank is a single-shell tank having one shell. The at least one pipe is connected between the LNG tank and the tank connection space by at least one bellow connection.

Abstract: An exemplary bilobe or multilobe tank for storing liquefied natural gas includes at least two tank sections, each tank section having a curved upper surface and curved bottom surface, the tank sections being joined to each other so that the tank has an undulating upper surface and an undulating lower surface. Each tank section is connected to an adjacent tank section with at least one connecting duct so that a horizontal flow path is formed between the lowermost points of the adjacent tank sections or between the uppermost points of the adjacent tank sections.

Abstract: A method for filling a fuel tank with liquefied gas includes liquefied gas being brought into the tank so that gas in introduced to a lower section of the tank below the surface of the liquefied gas in the tank, and during a first phase of the filling procedure while gas is introduced to a lower section of the tank the pressure of the tank is maintained below a predetermined set pressure by spraying of liquefied gas into a gas space in the upper section of the tank above the surface of the liquefied gas in the tank. At a predetermined state of the filling procedure a second phase of the procedure is initiated during which the spraying liquefied gas into a gas space in the upper section of the tank is decreased and the second phase is practiced until a predetermined filling stage of the tank is reached.
