    摘要: A method of rotation speed control for optical storage device is proposed. The method adjusts the rotation speed of an optical storage device to increase access probability and also enhance performance of the optical storage device. The method includes providing weighted values corresponding to a plurality of events that may happen during reading or writing processes of the optical storage device, providing an evaluation function, and determining a speed-up threshold and a speed-down threshold, which correspond to each rotation speed value, within a range of evaluation function values. Further included are when an event of the plurality of events happens, changing the evaluation function value according to the weighted value of the event, and when the evaluation function value is not within an domain between the thresholds, selectively changing the rotation speed of the optical storage device. The method further includes adaptively adjusting the thresholds and the weighted values.

The data to be written are successively stored in a data buffer in accordance with the sequence of the identification data of a data sector. The same area can be a lead-in area, a data area or a lead-out area. Therefore, a recording circuit can read out the data from the data buffer in accordance with the sequence of corresponding identification data and write them to corresponding tracks on the optical storage medium.

    摘要: A security system for code dump protection includes a storage device, a processor, and a decryption unit. The storage device has a protected storage area storing at least an encrypted code segment. The processor is utilized for issuing at least one address pattern to the storage device for obtaining at least one information pattern corresponding to the address pattern. The decryption unit checks signal communicated between the processor and the storage device to generate a check result, and determines whether to decrypt the encrypted code segment in the protected storage area to generate a decrypted code segment to the processor according to the check result.
