摘要： A method for manufacturing a golf club head with an insert having a face plate is disclosed herein. The insert is disposed in a recess of the club head in which the recess has a depth that is greater than the thickness of the insert. The insert preferably has a plurality of tabs on its perimeter to engage the recess walls to allow the insert to essentially float within the recess. An adhesive is preferably disposed between the rear wall of the recess and an interior surface of the insert. Further, an adhesive is applied between the plurality of tabs, and preferably over the exterior surface of each of the plurality of tabs.

The component of the golf club head that is plated is preferably composed of a metal material selected from the group consisting of magnesium alloys, aluminum alloys, magnesium and aluminum. The plating (300) preferably comprises a first plating layer (302) a second plating layer (303) and a chrome or chromate layer (304). The method (10 of 20) preferably comprises exposing the component to alkaline and acidic solutions. The method (10 and 20) also preferably includes heat treating the plated component.

The texture coating is a combination of a medium material, resin particles and a coupling agent. In a preferred embodiment the medium is a paint, the resin particles are olefins, most preferably polyethylene or polypropylene, and the coupling agent is a silane compound.
