    摘要: A reaction catalyst for the recombination of the oxyhydrogen gas produced by lead-acid storage batteries into water in a controlled, exothermic reaction, where the catalyst element is a solid rod element with a central heat conducting core, the catalyst rod being positioned inside a gas-tight housing in communication with the battery gas space. This rod element is produced by a fabricating method in which granular catalyst carrier material is worked into a paste which is then shaped and dried, the metallic catalyst being deposited on the surface of the carrier grains.

    摘要: A method for manufacturing lead plates for a lead/acid battery includes the step of providing lead electrode grates and filling an active paste into the lead electrode grates to form filled lead plates. Subsequently the lateral surfaces of the filled lead plates are subjected to a continuous processing sequence of less than 6 hours under preselected processing parameters for time, temperature, humidity, and air movement. The processing sequence includes a curing step in which moisture is added to reach a first humidity value, a predrying step for reducing the amount of free lead in the active paste at a second humidity value that is lower than the first humidity value, and a final drying step.

    摘要: For an improved recombination system serving to catalytically recombine hydrogen and oxygen, which form in a storage battery, into water and incorporating an adapter union assembly for the gas-tight connection of the system to a storage battery, a container which is gas-impermeable to the outside and which houses a recombination assembly, as well as a conduit for the loss-less gas intake from the adapter union to the container and water return flow in the opposite direction, whereby even in the event of an overload the hazard of escaping gas can be avoided and the efficacy of the catalytic unit can be maintained while at the same time the system can be produced at low cost and in a way as to be easily assembled and maintenance-free, this invention proposes to provide next to the conduit an expansion section which is open toward the outside but delimited by an ignition suppressor, and to connect the conduit with the expansion section by way of a gating aperture.
