摘要: A straw chopper and spreader assembly for receiving straw from a threshing machine, has a casing enclosing a pair of contra-rotatable flail assemblies. The flails are mounted in different horizontal planes and have blades which overlap so as to shear and chop the straw. At the rear of the casing is a rear outlet defined between a rear skirt and a bottom extension of the casing. The rear skirt is adjustble so as to enlarge or reduce the size of the rear outlet. In addition to discharge through the rear outlet, chopped straw is also discharged laterally through side chutes which have removable end portions so that discharge selectively may be outwardly and upwardly or outwardly and downwardly. Chaff spreading discs are mounted below the assembly and rotates horizontally. These receive chaff from the threshing combine via a reciprocating feed tray secured to and extending rearwardly from the reciprocal sieves and extend rearwardly from the sieve thereby depositing chaff onto the discs to be spread outwardly with chopped straw. A beater assembly rotates just above and behind the discharge of the straw walker which, together with a deflector panel, forces the straw downwardly into the flail assemblies.

摘要: A retainer for plastic carburetors which eliminates the necessity for mating flanges bolted together and thus avoids distortion of the body due to clamping pressures. The carburetor body has male parts which insert into recesses in an engine block or heat dam to seal in relation thereto and a forked clamp embraces a necked portion of the carburetor body and is clamped in cantilever fashion so that the plastic body is retained securely without distortive forces.

摘要: A tool operates with a guide system to identify the orientation of a tool on a work piece. In one implementation, the tool identifies its orientation with respect to a guide signal supplied by the guide system. In an alternate embodiment, the tool determines its absolute orientation, such as a (x, y) coordinate. The tool includes an action component adapted to alter the work piece, such as a cutting head in a router. A guide detector in the tool detects a position of a guide signal from the guide system. A location detector in the tool receives the position data and employs it to determine the tool's orientation. Based on the detected orientation, the tool decides whether any tool adjustments are necessary. Examples of tool adjustments include the following: adjusting the position of the action component, enabling or disabling the action component, and providing operating indicators to direct a tool operator's use of the tool.

摘要: A starting system for an internal combustion engine is provided for enhancing engine startability and performance by simultaneously controlling the volume of air flowing through a carburetor and the ratio of an air/fuel mixture through a single manual operation. The starting system is constructed to utilize atmospheric air control feed back to a carburetor and includes a piston disposed with a chamber which accesses two atmospheric ports. When the piston is positioned to fully close a first of the ports, a second of the ports is fully open. Similarly, when the piston fully opens the second port, the first port is fully closed. The two atmospheric ports access the carburetor idle system and intake manifold of the engine respectively. For starting of the engine in cold temperatures, the starting system also includes a fuel prime arrangement for enriching the ratio of air/fuel delivered to the engine. The fuel prime arrangement includes a primer pawl interconnected to the piston which depresses a prime bulb upon selective movement of the piston.

摘要: A submersible mobile caisson having ice crush resistance for adapting semi-submersible mobile offshore drilling units and mobile offshore oil well production rigs, which are ice crush sensitive for use in ice bearing offshore ocean waters, is provided. The caisson comprises a floatable generally four sided structure composed of front and rear outer walls, and opposing side outer walls, with the rear outer wall having a removable entrance door. Inner walls are positioned in a spaced apart, opposing relationship with each of the outer walls, and so that the inner and outer walls define a perimeter structure and the inner walls define a cavity which is located within the perimeter structure. The perimeter structure has a plurality of ballast compartments which permit the caisson to float or be sunk so as to rest on the ocean floor. A drilling/production moon pool system is also provided in the perimeter structure.

摘要: A fuel primer for float type carburetors for small internal combustion engines is disclosed. The fuel primer is associated with the fuel bowl of a float type carburetor. The fuel bowl is coupled with a fuel inlet, an atmospheric outlet vent, and a nozzle. The fuel inlet is coupled with the fuel source and the nozzle is coupled with the carburetor venturi. The primer includes a mechanism coupled with the outlet vent for introducing a pressurized flow into the fuel bowl. The pressurized flow introduces fuel from the fuel bowl into the carburetor venturi, which, in turn, enables fuel to pass into the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.
