Abstract:
A carburetor provides a supplemental fuel supply to an engine and includes a body, a fuel metering diaphragm and a fluid pump. The fuel metering diaphragm defines part of a fuel metering chamber and a reference chamber and has at least a portion that is movable relative to the body to increase and decrease the volume of the fuel metering chamber to control fuel flow in the fuel metering chamber. The fluid pump is carried by the carburetor or another component upstream of the carburetor and has an outlet in fluid communication with the metering reference chamber and an actuator arranged to discharge fluid through the outlet to increase the pressure within the metering reference chamber and thereby increase the fuel flow rate from the fuel metering chamber to the air-fuel passage to provide a supplemental fuel supply to the engine.
Abstract:
A cost of an engine working machine is suppressed, and startability of an engine is improved. In an engine working machine for driving a working tool by using an engine including: a fuel tank; a carburetor for supplying air-fuel mixture of fuel supplied from the fuel tank and air into a cylinder; a cylinder in which a piston is reciprocatable; and a crank case that holds the cylinder and forms a crank chamber, the engine working machine is provided with: an additional fuel supplying unit for supplying fuel to the engine separately from the carburetor; and a control unit for controlling an operation of the additional fuel supplying unit separately from supply of start-up fuel.
Abstract:
A handheld work apparatus has a fuel supply system and a pump for delivering fuel from the fuel supply system. The pump has an elastic pump bellows which can be actuated by the operator. The pump bellows has a fastening section at which the pump bellows is fastened to a housing. The pump bellows has a main section and a roof section, wherein the roof section has a dome-shaped section adjoining the main section and a cap which adjoins the dome-shaped section and closes off the dome-shaped section. In order to achieve a rapid return of the pump bellows from the actuated position into the unactuated position, even at low temperatures, it is provided that the smallest wall thickness (g) of the main section is at least 10% greater than the smallest wall thickness (h) of the dome-shaped section.
Abstract:
A carburetor for a hand-guided power tool has a carburetor housing and a carburetor rotor supported rotatably in the carburetor housing about an axis of rotation. A needle is disposed on the carburetor rotor and projects into a fuel opening of the carburetor. An adjusting element is operatively connected to the needle so as adjust a position of the needle relative to the carburetor rotor. The adjusting element has an engagement contour that is to be engaged by a tool for adjusting the adjusting element. A securing contour that is fixedly connected to the carburetor rotor is provided. The securing contour, at any point of the securing contour, has a spacing to the axis of rotation of at least approximately 10 mm.
Abstract:
A simple start ratchet-type carburetor includes a carburetor body, an inlet tube communicated with the carburetor body for forming a fuel passage, a fuel passage of a measuring room, a main fuel supply cavity molded integrally with the carburetor body comprising a choke subassembly, a venturi, and a throttle subassembly. The end of the throttle shaft protruding from the carburetor body provides a first pawl, a second pawl and a hand cranking block, the two pawls are mounted on one end of the throttle shaft by a fastener, the hand cranking block is mounted on the other end, the end of the choke shaft protruding from the carburetor body provides a first ratchet and a second ratchet. An air removing device drives the ratchets to rotate the choke shaft which controls the opening or closing of a shut-off valve device. The carburetor can control precisely the fuel amount.
Abstract:
A starting device for feeding a quantity of fuel from the fixed-quantity fuel chamber to an intake passage during start-up having a manually operated primary pump for suctioning/pumping fuel and arranged on a fuel introduction path connected along a fuel-feeding path; and a fixed-quantity fuel chamber for temporarily storing fuel delivered from the primary pump. An internal wall of the fixed-quantity fuel chamber undergoes elastic displacement, allowing its internal capacity to expand/shrink within a predetermined range; the fixed-quantity fuel chamber is connected to a fuel delivery path that communicates with the intake passage side and has a manually operated open/close valve; the valve is opened in a state in which, due to the primary pump being operated, the fixed-quantity fuel chamber is filled with a predetermined quantity of fuel while enlarging its internal capacity, whereby it shrinks due to an elastic contraction force and the fuel.
Abstract:
A handheld primer bulb structure includes an outer layer, an inner layer, an intermediate layer and a chamber. The outer layer is made of a thermoplastic elastic material and has the configuration of a spherical body. The inner layer is made of a fluoroplastic material (fluorocarbon polymer) and disposed on an inner face of the outer layer. The intermediate layer is disposed between the outer layer and the inner layer for affixing the inner layer and the outer layer to each other. The chamber is surrounded and defined by the outer layer and the inner layer and the intermediate layer and has two openings.
Abstract:
An air intake component and assembly, as well as an associated carburetor assembly and related method of assembly, are disclose. In at least some embodiments, the intake component includes a surface capable of being coupled at least indirectly to a carburetor assembly, where the surface includes first and second orifices, a first channel capable of communicating engine intake air from a first location to the first orifice of the surface, and a second channel by which at least one of the first location and a second location is connected to the second orifice. The second channel is capable of communicating at least one of a primer air pressure pulse from the at least one location to the second orifice and fuel fumes from the second orifice to the at least one location. In at least some further embodiments, the intake component can be fitted with any of several interchangeable covers.
Abstract:
A carburetor start pump circuit, for starting an engine has an auxiliary fuel pump mounted on a relatively standard carburetor body, a start pulse passage extending through the carburetor body to the auxiliary fuel pump, and a fuel circuit having an intake side which extends from a metering chamber of the carburetor body to the auxiliary fuel pump and a discharge side which is interconnected to the intake side and extends from the auxiliary fuel pump to a throttle bore in the air intake of the carburetor body. To prevent the engine from stalling, a restriction jet is placed within the start pulse passage to prevent the auxiliary fuel pump from discharging fuel into the throttling bore when the engine transmits pulses at high frequencies.
Abstract:
The cooperative operational relationship among an ignition switch, choke mechanism and air filter unit for a portable power tool are integrated in a way to improve that relationship. The ignition switch and choke mechanism are arranged in a coactive relationship wherein the ignition switch and a choke lever in the choke mechanism have engaging parts such that the ignition switch is moved to an “On” position by the choke lever when the choke lever is moved to a position where it has reduced the air flow to a carburetor. A spring engaging the ignition switch is biased for applying a force to the ignition switch in a direction toward a mounting element on which the ignition switch is mounted and away from the choke lever. In a particular embodiment, the ignition switch is mounted on the air filter unit.
